Forum Rules (Everyone Must Read!!!)
1] What you CAN NOT post.
You agree, through your use of this service, that you will not use this forum to post any material which is:
- abusive
- vulgar
- hateful
- harassing
- personal attacks
- obscene
You also may not:
- post images that are too large (max is 500*500px)
- post any copyrighted material unless the copyright is owned by you or cited properly.
- post in UPPER CASE, which is considered yelling
- post messages which insult the Armenians, Armenian culture, traditions, etc
- post racist or other intentionally insensitive material that insults or attacks another culture (including Turks)
The Ankap thread is excluded from the strict rules because that place is more relaxed and you can vent and engage in light insults and humor. Notice it's not a blank ticket, but just a place to vent. If you go into the Ankap thread, you enter at your own risk of being clowned on.
What you PROBABLY SHOULD NOT post...
Do not post information that you will regret putting out in public. This site comes up on Google, is cached, and all of that, so be aware of that as you post. Do not ask the staff to go through and delete things that you regret making available on the web for all to see because we will not do it. Think before you post!
2] Use descriptive subject lines & research your post. This means use the SEARCH.
This reduces the chances of double-posting and it also makes it easier for people to see what they do/don't want to read. Using the search function will identify existing threads on the topic so we do not have multiple threads on the same topic.
3] Keep the focus.
Each forum has a focus on a certain topic. Questions outside the scope of a certain forum will either be moved to the appropriate forum, closed, or simply be deleted. Please post your topic in the most appropriate forum. Users that keep doing this will be warned, then banned.
4] Behave as you would in a public location.
This forum is no different than a public place. Behave yourself and act like a decent human being (i.e. be respectful). If you're unable to do so, you're not welcome here and will be made to leave.
5] Respect the authority of moderators/admins.
Public discussions of moderator/admin actions are not allowed on the forum. It is also prohibited to protest moderator actions in titles, avatars, and signatures. If you don't like something that a moderator did, PM or email the moderator and try your best to resolve the problem or difference in private.
6] Promotion of sites or products is not permitted.
Advertisements are not allowed in this venue. No blatant advertising or solicitations of or for business is prohibited.
This includes, but not limited to, personal resumes and links to products or
services with which the poster is affiliated, whether or not a fee is charged
for the product or service. Spamming, in which a user posts the same message repeatedly, is also prohibited.
7] We retain the right to remove any posts and/or Members for any reason, without prior notice.
- PLEASE READ -
Members are welcome to read posts and though we encourage your active participation in the forum, it is not required. If you do participate by posting, however, we expect that on the whole you contribute something to the forum. This means that the bulk of your posts should not be in "fun" threads (e.g. Ankap, Keep & Kill, This or That, etc.). Further, while occasionally it is appropriate to simply voice your agreement or approval, not all of your posts should be of this variety: "LOL Member213!" "I agree."
If it is evident that a member is simply posting for the sake of posting, they will be removed.
8] These Rules & Guidelines may be amended at any time. (last update September 17, 2009)
If you believe an individual is repeatedly breaking the rules, please report to admin/moderator.

**alert- Ancient Armenian Forest Is Cut Down**

Originally posted by CatWomanFirst of, a road is usually only 6-12 meters wide. The forest, if it really is that big of a forest won't disappear with a 10 meter road built in it.
A 10 metre wide road - how pathetic! You add on another 10 metres onto each side - think how many valuable trees we could be cut down then. Lots of money to be made!! Think of all that wood needed to make wooden trinkets to sell at inflated prices to all the jerk American tourists in Yereven. And of course, once we have the road there and access becomes easy we can always send our goons back later to cut more trees if we need. While there, they can machine-gun a few ibex's for us as well - good meat and the heads will look great on the walls of our villas.
But the possibilities for making quick money from destroying Armenia are getting less by the day, so we should move fast. Think of all those Yerevan parks, ripe for development (oh, sorry, they've done that already), or all those old Russian buildings, so easy to demolish and rebuild as condos (oh, sorry, they've done that already), well let's try and turn lake Sevan into a reservoir (oh, sorry, they've done that already), or the Razdan river into an open sewer and rubbish tip (oh, sorry, they've done that already) or make a quarry out of Ani (oh, sorry, they've done that already) or open a quarry at Garni (oh, sorry, they are doing that one as we write). I know, let's build a dam and flood the Arax valley (darn it - someone else has already got plannning permission for that one).
Hmm .... I suppose we could always join up with our pals in Turkey. Although all their rivers have already been damned, and all their forests already cut down, and all their hillsides already covered with quarries and roads, I hear good things are happening in Dersim: the whole region is going to be one big gold mine - a poluters paradise!Last edited by bell-the-cat; 06-15-2005, 08:42 AM.Plenipotentiary meow!

What's with you Armenians and the Kocharyan administration???
Whether you like them or not, Dashnaks today are one of Armenia's few *real* political organizations. Whether you like him or not, Kocharyan today is the best president we can have. Kocharyan and team have masterfully executed Armenia's foreign and domestic policies. Don't forget, we don't have France, Italy or Luxemburg as neighbors in the Caucasus. Realize what type of a geopolitical environment Kocharyan has to deal with. Don't forget what part of the world we have ended up in.
Stop dreaming, there is not such thing as a perfect government. There is no such thing as perfect justice. Besides which, you communist wannabees are really funny. When commies were running the show, there was no corruption???? When commies were running the show, the Armenian ecology was in perfect order???
I have been to Armenia enough times to know that there are good politicians and bad politicians - as everywhere else in the world. I my opinion, most of the politicians in Armenia actually mean well. However, often times they are simply incompetant and/or inexperianced.
Therefore, its you job, if you consider yourself an Armenian patriot, to support the nation in these bad times. In other words, don't xxxxx and complain every single time something occurs that is not to your liking. Why don't you partake in some constructive criticism instead of destructive criticism.
As far as the forest is concerned, I fully share your feelings. Armenia's environment is very fragile and needs urgent protection. But the other side has some important points as well. We are desperate to have better connections with Iran. Believe it or not, its not as simple as "lets just bypass the area and let the animals run around the forest." There are serious construction issues that need to be solved. And there are time issues as well.
The population in Armenia is more or less desperate to get income into the country, and I can't blame them. Therefore, it is up to people like you and I to get involved and get to the bottom of things. In other wards, stop listening to rumors and gossip and find out for yourself what is really going on. I remain hopeful that the government will come to a compromise and our dwindling forests will get preserved.
Kocharyan and the ARF are not the tools of the devil out to destroy Armenia. Stop the cold war paranoia. Under the given circumstances, they are probably a blessing to have.Մեր ժողովուրդն արանց հայրենասիրութեան այն է, ինչ որ մի մարմին' առանց հոգու:

Right, God forbid the government makes money!! That will kill the country, you know!! Let’s not build a road so the government doesn‘t make money!!!
