Many European states may boycott Eurovision-2012 in Baku

    December 29, 2011 | 01:09

PARIS. – Many European States hesitate to participate in the Eurovision-2012 song contest to be held in Baku, Azerbaijan, as a result of the dictatorship of the state, Nouvelles d`Arménie reports. Poland and Island have already declared of rejecting their participations. Armenia still hesitates, as a result of the risk of delegation security.

The number of those rejecting their participation in the contest may get doubled next week, Azerbaijani Poligon agency reports. The reason is Azerbaijani regime, which fairly considers a dictatorship.

Belgium, Netherlands, Norway, Sweden, France, Denmark, Germany and Luxemburg are hesitating to participate as Azerbaijani citizens and journalists are arrested for freedom of speech. If those claims are confirmed, the contest will be just a platform to display the Azerbaijan and will become a failed demonstration of luxury of the corrupted leaders of the black gold.

Not the first time Zhirinovsky openly makes such a pro-Armenian statement. He hates Turks . Now if only people took him more seriously...

Senate of Pakistan Recognizes Khojaly Genocide
BAKU. February 1, 2012: After a hearing on the subject of bilateral Azerbaijani-Pakistani relations on February 1, the Committee for foreign issues of the Senate of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan unanimously adopted a resolution on the occupation of Azerbaijani lands and the genocide in Khojaly. The Press Service for the Azerbaijani Foreign Ministry issued a text of the document, which states:

                1) The Foreign Affairs Committee condemns the occupation of Azerbaijani lands and the genocide committed by the Armenian armed forces on February 26, 1992 against the civilian population of the Azerbaijani town of Khojaly.
The Committee reaffirms support of internationally recognized sovereignty and territorial integrity of Azerbaijan.

                2) The Committee requires the implementation of the resolutions of the General Assembly and Security Council on immediate, complete and unconditional withdrawal of Armenian forces from Azerbaijan's occupied territories, and calls on the international community and international organizations to call on Armenia to implement those decisions.

                3) The Committee supports Azerbaijan’s efforts on a peaceful settlement of the Armenian-Azerbaijani conflict over Nagorno-Karabakh.

Commenting on the document adopted by the Pakistani senators, the spokesman for Azerbaijan’s Foreign Ministry, Elman Abdullayev, said that the whole international community should give legal assessment to the Khojali tragedy, and efforts in this direction are ongoing.

At the end of last year the Khojali genocide was recognized by the National Assembly and the Senate of Mexico.
The town of Khojaly was captured by Armenian armed forces with the support of the 366th Regiment of the former Soviet Army on the night of February 25 to February 26, 1992.
