What you PROBABLY SHOULD NOT post...
Do not post information that you will regret putting out in public. This site comes up on Google, is cached, and all of that, so be aware of that as you post. Do not ask the staff to go through and delete things that you regret making available on the web for all to see because we will not do it. Think before you post!

2] Use descriptive subject lines & research your post. This means use the SEARCH.

This reduces the chances of double-posting and it also makes it easier for people to see what they do/don't want to read. Using the search function will identify existing threads on the topic so we do not have multiple threads on the same topic.

3] Keep the focus.

Each forum has a focus on a certain topic. Questions outside the scope of a certain forum will either be moved to the appropriate forum, closed, or simply be deleted. Please post your topic in the most appropriate forum. Users that keep doing this will be warned, then banned.

6] Promotion of sites or products is not permitted.

Advertisements are not allowed in this venue. No blatant advertising or solicitations of or for business is prohibited.
This includes, but not limited to, personal resumes and links to products or
services with which the poster is affiliated, whether or not a fee is charged
for the product or service. Spamming, in which a user posts the same message repeatedly, is also prohibited.

7] We retain the right to remove any posts and/or Members for any reason, without prior notice.

- PLEASE READ -

Members are welcome to read posts and though we encourage your active participation in the forum, it is not required. If you do participate by posting, however, we expect that on the whole you contribute something to the forum. This means that the bulk of your posts should not be in "fun" threads (e.g. Ankap, Keep & Kill, This or That, etc.). Further, while occasionally it is appropriate to simply voice your agreement or approval, not all of your posts should be of this variety: "LOL Member213!" "I agree."
If it is evident that a member is simply posting for the sake of posting, they will be removed.

8] These Rules & Guidelines may be amended at any time. (last update September 17, 2009)

Azerbaijan fail to spread misinformation at the BSEC meeting
    26.10.2009 19:29 GMT+04:00
/PanARMENIAN.Net/ "At the commission meeting of the Black Sea Economic Cooperation (BSEC) in Thessaloniki, during discussion of environmental issues, the representative of Azerbaijan raised the issue of refugees and territories. The Armenian side has urged him not to disseminate misinformation, as Nagorno-Karabakh self-determined as a state in compliance with all international laws and establish an independent state, subject to military aggression by Azerbaijan," Gagik Minasyan , member of the Republican Party of Armenia (RPA) parliamentary faction told a press conference in Yerevan today.
According to Gagik Minasyan, the head of the Azerbaijani delegation Hajiyev unsuccessfully tried to draw into the debate the Georgian and Turkish delegates. "We have expressed regret that there are politicians so far who do not understand the absence of contradiction between the principles of territorial integrity and national self-determination in the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict, since the implementation of the principle of self-determination has nothing to do with the territorial integrity of Azerbaijan," Gagik Minasyan said.

Azerbaijan raises issue of illegal armament of Armenians in
      Nagorno-Karabakh in UN

USA, Washington, October 23 / Trend News N. Bogdanova /

This issue of illegal armament of Armenians in Nagorno-Karabakh was
discussed today during the debate at the 17th meeting of the Committee
of UN General Assembly about the peace, security and disarmament.

Azerbaijan has raised the issue of illegal armament of Armenians in
Nagorno-Karabakh at the Sixty-fourth UN General Assembly.

"Armenia had built up its military presence, with data showing a
growing number of uncontrolled arms, including 316tanks, 324 armoured
vehicles and 322 artillery systems in the occupied territories,
exceeding its maximum levels", deputy chairman of the committee, the
first secretary of Azerbaijani permanent office in UN, Ogtay
      Ismayilzada, said.

"Armenia's aggression had led to the occupation of one-fifth of
Azerbaijan's territory, triggering the internal displacement of 1
million people, and of war crimes and genocide.Armenia had used the
occupied territories to hide great numbers of unaccounted and
uncontrolled treaty-limited equipment from the "CFE" community,
endangering the security of Azerbaijan and the stable development of
      the whole region," he said.

Other representatives noticed that peace and security could only be
achieved with strong regional action and strict compliance with
existing arms agreements; otherwise the present arms races would erect
stumbling blocks along the road to stability around the world.

Ismayilzada regretted that unfortunately, unlawful use of force still
plagued certain States, and civilian populations were suffering around
the world, owing to the failure of individual States to fulfill their
      most basic responsibilities.

"Armenia had blamed Azerbaijan for increasing its military budget and
for violations of arms limitation norms, but it had failed to mention
Azerbaijan's defense spending, conformed to overall budget increases,"
      he said.

"Azerbaijan spent 3.26 per cent of its gross domestic product (GDP) on
the army, compared with Armenia's 3.86 per cent. Despite being in a
state of war, Azerbaijan was continuing to fulfill commitments under
the CFE Treaty, reducing and destroying more than 150 treaty-limited
armaments and equipment over the last five years, in line with the
Tashkent Agreement. Azerbaijan aimed to liberate all occupied
territories, return internally displaced persons to their homes and
establish a durable peace and stability in the Nagorno-Karabakh
      region," he said.

The conflict between the two South Caucasus countries began in 1988
when Armenia made territorial claims against Azerbaijan. Azerbaijan
lost all of Nagorno-Karabakh except for Shusha and Khojali in December
1991. In 1992-93, Armenian armed forces occupied Shusha, Khojali and 7
districts surrounding Nagorno-Karabakh. Azerbaijan and Armenia signed
a ceasefire in 1994. The co-chairs of the OSCE Minsk Group - Russia,
France, and the U.S. - are currently holding the peace negotiations.

        Today.Az » Politics » Russia's ‘Sim Clever’ considers Nagorno-Karabakh independent state – Photo

        26 October 2009 [12:48] - Today.Az

To ensure convenient mobile communication, various companies produce so-called tourist SIM-cards designed for tourists. This is a convenient and inexpensive alternative to roaming.

Russian company ‘Sim Clever’, which provides afore-said services, in this case, flagrantly violates the territorial integrity of Azerbaijan by its errors.

So, on the home page (http://www.simclever.ru/), on the left side there is a list of countries where company’s SIM-cards are available. In this list ‘Sim Clever’ indicates Nagorno-Karabakh as an independent, separate state.

The error made by ‘Sim Clever’ is not surprising, since, according to the company's website, ‘Sim Clever’ has been developed jointly with ‘Sim Travel’, which also made mistakes concerning the territorial integrity of Azerbaijan. Moreover, there is also a spelling mistake (Nogorny Karabakh).

Nagorno-Karabakh is an integral part of the Azerbaijan Republic, and listing it as an independent state is a serious mistake that violates all international norms.

Book “Aggression of Armenian Republic against Azerbaijan Republic and its legal results” presented in Tbilisi - PHOTO

          [ 27 Oct 2009 04:08 ]

Tbilisi. Nizami Mammadzadeh – APA. The book “Aggression of Armenian Republic against Azerbaijan Republic and its legal results” was presented in Tbilisi on the initiative of the Azerbaijani embassy in Georgia.

APA’s Georgia bureau reports that the book has been published in Russian and English in Tbilisi. Azerbaijani ambassador to Georgia, Professor Namig Aliyev made a speech at the presentation ceremony. Being the designer of the book and the author of the preface he underlined the importance of promoting the book everywhere.

Three reports on the legal results of Armenia’s aggression against Azerbaijan have been published in the book. The reports cover the legal grounds of the problem, content and essence of the international legal norms, Armenia’s international legal tasks. Namig Aliyev told journalists that the book depicts the position of Azerbaijani state, informs the world community about the Nagorno Karabakh problem and Armenia’s aggression against Azerbaijan.
“Georgian public knows that Armenia is an aggressor state and Azerbaijani people will take back its lands sooner or later,” he said.

Representatives of the Georgian government and parliament, scientists, scientists studying Caucasus and conflicts, representatives of the diplomatic corps accredited in Georgia and journalists attended the presentation ceremony.

i dont think the book covers the simple statistic that when the UN voted in favor of azerbaijans resolution over 100+ countries abstained, Russia, USA, France and others voted no and only the muslim countries voted in favor of it.

There was a great article I found in Asbarez that I also found online once...it talked about the legal aspects of Artsakhs Independence movement through the Soviet System and also International law. I couldn't find it now but I'm sure much has been written to counter the BS azeri claims.

Need less to say, when oppressed, defend yourself.

Today.Az » Politics » Armenian vandals have desecrated ancient Turkic cemetery Tokhmakhgol: NGO director

                27 October 2009 [17:33] - Today.Az

"Back in 1903, there was no Armenian toponym in the territory of modern Armenia and there were Azerbaijani-Turkic names of settlements everywhere whereas today, in this territory there is no man of Turkic origin in this territory. The Armenian vandals have desecrated ancient Turkic cemetery Tokhmakhgol which is the highest manifestation of Armenian xenophobia,” Director of the Azerbaijani NGO Assistance to Development of Public Relations Shelale Hasanova said at a presentation ceremony of the Web site www.west-land.az

She said the project was implemented under the project titled "Dissemination of the truth about the Western Azerbaijan on internet" carried out by a grant from the State Council for NGO Support the President of Azerbaijan.

“The Web site includes an electronic book of the late honored journalist Habib Rahimoglu "Unforgettable names, Unhealed Wounds” which tells the story of two-centuries old history of occupation of originally Azerbaijani lands by Armenian nationalists. The web site is an excellent response to all Armenian mythmakers and falsifiers of history. It is no secret that every year the Armenians improve their awareness of technology, expanding the scope of lies and slander,” she said.

"It is enough to recall ‘Field of Memory’ by Hovannes Melkonyan. This hefty collection of lies composed of 512 pages was published and launched for sale in 1987 for a short time with lightning speed - for 3 months. The book includes letters allegedly written in the 1916-1919 years by 353 witnesss of "Armenian genocide" that allegedly happened in Turkey, but not have reached their destinations.”

“One thing is clear: in 1987, with a view to forcing anti-Azerbaijani hysteria in connection with the Karabakh problem, there was a an “order” for such letters and they appeared from “bottom of the submarine.” The full picture of the horrors and violence of the book of this kind was published by the Armenians as a call for vengeance on the principle of "eye for eye, tooth for a tooth,” Hasanova said.

Armenian websites add Turkish language section: Zaman

“It is not unusual to see English and Russian versions of Armenian news sites. But something unusual has started to occur recently, as some news sites in Armenia have added a Turkish language section to their pages,” the Turkish Zaman daily reads.

The daily mentions NEWS.am news agency, Tert.am and Azg.am (the pioneer in Turkish-language websites in Armenia).

The source quotes the editor of Tert.am website Sonya Apresova, stating “they have 12 percent growth each day in page views of the Turkish section of the site and that their visitors are not only from Turkey, but also from Armenia, the United States and Europe.”

“News.am is a relatively new online news resource. It started this year. Tert.am started last year. Both News.am and Tert.am are competing for the same market,” said the Yerevan Press Club member Artur Papyan.

Zaman also cites Turkish Sabah daily editor Erdinc Ergenc who said that “he feels obligated to know what the other side &‘says and does’ and that a good way to do it is to go to the Turkish-language sites in Armenia.” Ergenc stated that “it is ‘sad to see’ that the Turkish side is not involved in a similar effort to publish news from Turkey in Armenian.”

NEWS.am agency started broadcasting in 2009. Presently it tops the Circle.am rating under News, Media and Reference category and takes the 4th line among Armenian websites. Near 360 000 readers have visited the website within last 30 days and surfed over 1.3 million pages.

PanARMENIAN.Net/ Washington has set Azerbaijan a firm ultimatum: Karabakh independence will be recognized, should Azerbaijan attempt to launch military operations in NKR, Yeni Musavat Oppositional Azeri Party official website reported on Tuesday, followed by other Azeri media representatives.

Baku asserts US Deputy Assistant Secretary, Tina S. Kaidanow was the one to express US position on Baku's increased militaristic statements on Karabakh conflict settlement. Moreover, US assert possessing information on Azerbaijan’s secret preparations for a war.

In observer's opinion, Baku's military rhetoric is caused by the fact Azerbaijan's territorial integrity is not included in agenda of Armenia-Azerbaijan negotiations on Karabakh status, mediated by Russia, US and France, NEWSru.com reports.
