Forum Rules (Everyone Must Read!!!)

1] What you CAN NOT post.

You agree, through your use of this service, that you will not use this forum to post any material which is:
- abusive
- vulgar
- hateful
- harassing
- personal attacks
- obscene

You also may not:
- post images that are too large (max is 500*500px)
- post any copyrighted material unless the copyright is owned by you or cited properly.
- post in UPPER CASE, which is considered yelling
- post messages which insult the Armenians, Armenian culture, traditions, etc
- post racist or other intentionally insensitive material that insults or attacks another culture (including Turks)

The Ankap thread is excluded from the strict rules because that place is more relaxed and you can vent and engage in light insults and humor. Notice it's not a blank ticket, but just a place to vent. If you go into the Ankap thread, you enter at your own risk of being clowned on.
What you PROBABLY SHOULD NOT post...
Do not post information that you will regret putting out in public. This site comes up on Google, is cached, and all of that, so be aware of that as you post. Do not ask the staff to go through and delete things that you regret making available on the web for all to see because we will not do it. Think before you post!

2] Use descriptive subject lines & research your post. This means use the SEARCH.

This reduces the chances of double-posting and it also makes it easier for people to see what they do/don't want to read. Using the search function will identify existing threads on the topic so we do not have multiple threads on the same topic.

3] Keep the focus.

Each forum has a focus on a certain topic. Questions outside the scope of a certain forum will either be moved to the appropriate forum, closed, or simply be deleted. Please post your topic in the most appropriate forum. Users that keep doing this will be warned, then banned.

4] Behave as you would in a public location.

This forum is no different than a public place. Behave yourself and act like a decent human being (i.e. be respectful). If you're unable to do so, you're not welcome here and will be made to leave.

5] Respect the authority of moderators/admins.

Public discussions of moderator/admin actions are not allowed on the forum. It is also prohibited to protest moderator actions in titles, avatars, and signatures. If you don't like something that a moderator did, PM or email the moderator and try your best to resolve the problem or difference in private.

6] Promotion of sites or products is not permitted.

Advertisements are not allowed in this venue. No blatant advertising or solicitations of or for business is prohibited.
This includes, but not limited to, personal resumes and links to products or
services with which the poster is affiliated, whether or not a fee is charged
for the product or service. Spamming, in which a user posts the same message repeatedly, is also prohibited.

7] We retain the right to remove any posts and/or Members for any reason, without prior notice.

- PLEASE READ -

Members are welcome to read posts and though we encourage your active participation in the forum, it is not required. If you do participate by posting, however, we expect that on the whole you contribute something to the forum. This means that the bulk of your posts should not be in "fun" threads (e.g. Ankap, Keep & Kill, This or That, etc.). Further, while occasionally it is appropriate to simply voice your agreement or approval, not all of your posts should be of this variety: "LOL Member213!" "I agree."
If it is evident that a member is simply posting for the sake of posting, they will be removed.

8] These Rules & Guidelines may be amended at any time. (last update September 17, 2009)

If you believe an individual is repeatedly breaking the rules, please report to admin/moderator.

    Mistake on Deutsche Welle's website

    03 June 2009 [11:04] - Today.Az

The map of Azerbaijan on Deutsche Welle’s site contains a serious mistake. Let's compare the maps of Georgia, Armenia, Azerbaijan and Moldova in the "weather" column:

As we see, the authors marked the administrative borders of Azerbaijan’s Nagorno-Karabakh region, which is an enclave inside Azerbaijan and its internationally recognized integral part. However, similar breakaway autonomies in Georgia – South Ossetia and Abkhazia – are not marked accordingly. On Moldova’s map, the self-proclaimed so-called republic of Transnistria in the east of the country is not marked either, which brings Azerbaijan into an unequal position. On the background of the resolution on the South Caucasus, recognizing the territorial integrity of Azerbaijan, recently adopted by the German Bundestag, this contradiction on the website of the biggest German news source seems to be political erroneous, if not discriminative towards our statehood. The best option would be to show only the state borders, as it is the case with Moldova, Armenia and Georgia. In other words, DW should be more consistent in marking borders and autonomies in the former USSR countries.

The same mistake is also observed on the following page: http://www9.dw-world.de/europakarte/...arte_fs.php?id

We call on the citizens of Azerbaijan and all friends of our country to sent a letter of the following content to Deutsche Welle's [email protected]:

    Dear Mr. Erik Bettermann,

The map of Azerbaijan on Deutsche Welle’s site contains a serious mistake:

The authors marked the administrative borders of Azerbaijan’s Nagorno-Karabakh region, which is an enclave inside Azerbaijan and its internationally recognized integral part. However, similar breakaway autonomies in Georgia – South Ossetia and Abkhazia – are not marked accordingly. On Moldova’s map, the self-proclaimed so-called republic of Transnistria in the east of the country is not marked either. To be consistent, DW needs to mark either all these separatist regions and autonomies or not mark any of them at all. The best option would be to show only the state borders, as it is the case with Moldova, Armenia and Georgia. To remove this discrimination against Germany’s strategic partner, Azerbaijan, I urge you to remove the administrative borders of the self-proclaimed separatist Armenia-occupied region of Nagorno Karabakh and show only the state borders of Azerbaijan. This will bring the map in line with the recently Bundestag-adopted resolution that supports territorial integrity and sovereignty of all the three states of the South Caucasus.

Below are two maps. Map 1 appears presently on DW’s site and it is incorrect, and map 2 is accurate and in conformity with international law. To remove discrimination, I urge you to replace map 1 with map 2.

Similar mistakes were found in the past in other websites, and most of them had demonstrated good faith and cooperation and corrected their mistakes, for which we are very grateful to them. I call Deutsche Welle to take steps too towards moving from the "red-light" to "green-light" list.

    Sincerely,
[type in your name and send to [email protected] by indicating "Call for Consistency" in the subject line]

War expert: We should propagandize goodwill surrender among Armenians in the front line area
      03 June 2009 [10:50] - Today.Az
Azerbaijan should propagandize goodwill surrender among Armenians in the front line area, said chairman of the Union of reserve officers and military expert Yashar Cafarli, commenting on the goodwill passing of Armenian soldiers to the Azerbaijani territory.

According to him, the economic recession in Armenia started long ago and especially deteriorated with the world financial crisis.

"Of course, this affects the material situation inside the army. Moreover, we have earlier heard of the facts that the citizens of Armenia do not want to serve in the occupied lands of another country. We have repeatedly received such information during the meetings between Azerbaijani and Armenian NGOs. Nevertheless, they are sent there by force", noted the military expert.

Naturally, this causes resentment among young people and if for some reason they fail to get rid of this share and have no other way out, they pass to our side, said the expert. He noted that these are quite normal and natural steps for people, who have been put to unbearable conditions.

"I understand these people and I think they act correctly", noted the military expert.

According to him, Azerbaijan should use this and propagandize goodwill surrender among Armenians in the front line area.

It just means that defeating Azeri's will just be one step easier.

Better counter this one very fast, we can't lose the HALO Trust. They have an immensely good job at clearing all the mines the "azeris" placed in Artsakh. The photo I posted here is a poster they made for schoolchildren on how to stay clear of mines and who to call.

Azerbaijani Foreign Ministry to check information about activity of British "The HALO Trust" in occupied lands

            04 June 2009 [10:24] - Today.Az

The Foreign Ministry of Azerbaijan will check information about the activity of British "The HALO Trust" in the Armenian-occupied Azerbaijani lands, said spokesman for the Foreign Ministry of Azerbaijan Elkhan Polukhov commenting on the information in Armenian mass medias about the activity of the said NGOs in the Armenian occupied Azerbaijani lands.

"This information about the activity of the British NGO in the occupied lands of Azerbaijan will be checked via our embassy in Great Britain", said he.

"Anyway, if the information is confirmed, the British government will be informed about illegality of any activity in the occupied lands of Azerbaijan without prior consent of the Azerbaijani officials", noted Polukhov.

Armenian mass medias report that British "The HALO Trust" has been dealing with mine clearing activities in the occupied lands of Nagorno Karabakh since 2000 at the invitation of the "NKR officials".

i dont think they care what the azeris say. like it says on the HALO Trust website:
"In addition to landmines, both sides also used tanks, artillery and mortars in offensive operations which has resulted in a widespread Unexploded Ordnance (UXO) problem. The Azeri forces had significant air capability, which involved the use of cluster munition bombing. Cluster bomblets suffer a high failure rate which results in many partially armed cluster bomblets still requiring clearance today. In addition, the area was heavily bombed, mainly by Azeri forces throughout the conflict. The majority of the villages within the traditional borders of Nagorno Karabakh are contaminated with cluster bombs or conventional ERW. Some 180 square kilometres were contaminated by ERWs. Both mines and ERW inhibited access to agricultural land, pasture, safe drinking water and hampered the reoccupation of houses post war. All this has had a profound impact on socio-economic growth and on the day-to-day lives of the local population. Poor living conditions and poverty have pushed people to plow and cultivate areas that they know are dangerous and contain mines; this has led to a large number of accidents. It is believed that Nagorno Karabakh has one of the highest per capita human accident rates in the world."

It is obvious that the azeris are responsible for most of the mines, probably all of the cluster bombs which hadnt exploded, etc. The HALO Trust is a non-profit organization, non-political organization. they are there to help the people live normal lives. the azeris dont want Armenians living normal lives. i dont think Britain will stop HALO Trust from operating in Artsakh because the azeris dont like it.

Armenian army bullying photos posted on Internet
                [08 Jun 2009 13:37 ]

Baku. Rashad Suleymanov – APA. Armenian Internet-sites posted photo evidences of negative cases and violence inside the Armenian army.

Ankakh.am posted a report on corruption in the Armenian army. Report ends with photos which made via mobile phone and show how an officer was beating a conscript at one of the Armenian army bases, APA reports.

Armenian news outlets immediately publicized reports on video violence in the Azerbaijani army. However Azerbaijan is investigating such cases, but Armenia doesn’t react to the facts of violence in its army, said the report on Ankakh.am.

It's one of the purposes of this thread. It's so the average Armenian sees what kind of propaganda and disinformation is being spread about them which we either remain ignorant about or ignore in the hopes that it will just go away. Both paths are disastrous. We need a counter-reaction force.

On another note, some of the outrageous claims can have some truth behind them. For example, the last article about the Armenian army. There is hazing in our army and this is a fact. The severity of the hazing is what is questionable.

I don't see the point of this. People fight in the US army too, sometimes its just to prove how good a soldier you are or something, lol.
