Azeris would love to be closer to Georgia, as they can use Georgia to pressure us economically rather significantly. But I don't think Georgia is going to forfeit it's lucrative trade with and to Armenia for more unity with Azeris.

azeris outnumber the Armenians in Georgia and more azeris are fleeing azerbaijan and going to Georgia. I dont get what this idiot is claiming. The only problem we have with Georgia is Javakh but how will that give Armenia a sea to sea connection? Where does he come up with Greater Armenia in this context? azeris are scared now so they are trying to drive a wedge between Armenia and Iran and now Armenia and Georgia.

'Abkhazia is a new mono-ethnic zone created by Armenians.
The question is not only Abkhazia, but also South Caucasus. A big part of the South Caucasus is divided into mono-ethnic areas. Serious attention should be paid to it,' Azerbaijani ambassador to Georgia Namig Aliyev said.

According to him, Armenia, Javakheti, Nagorno Karabakh and seven adjacent regions are mono-ethnic zones.

'No one but Armenians live in these zones. 65 percent of Abkhazia is a mono-ethnic zone. Gobuleti, Batumi and other regions in Ajaria are being armenized, Armenians are settled there. This is a great threat. Taking into account that in 2009-2010 hundreds of Ajarian families moved from Ajaria to other regions of Georgia as migrants, we’ll see where these processes are lead Georgians to. For Armenians access to the Black Sea means the realization of the idea of “Great Armenia from sea to sea”.

This means establishment of “Great Armenia”. I understand that when a state has no access to sea, it wants to establish friendship, economic, commercial, transport relations with the other states, in order to have access to the sea. But in the case of Armenia this is abnormal way, these are territorial claims, it means to establish mono-ethnic zone in that territory,' he said.

Ambassador said this policy is pursued through oppressing other nations.

'It means to occupy these territories both through military way and migration. This is the Armenian policy. Both Azerbaijanis and Georgians should unite to prevent this policy. Otherwise, we will not be able to achieve anything. Both Azerbaijan and Georgia should openly say to Armenians that there is no place for “Great Armenia” here. We can achieve something, if we say it together, otherwise it will be very difficult,' he said.

This is true. The Azeris are desperately trying to drive a wedge between Armenia and Georgia, Russia and Iran. They are looking desperate themselves. The Armenian government has good to excellent relations with all those countries

that website is full of BS stories, i completely ignore it, dont even bother reading the articles for a laugh. They had reported how supposedly during the Armenian earthquake the azeris had sent volunteers to help the Armenians even though there was a blockade.

More Pan-Turkism at work (see link below) - perhaps Armenians should build alliances with the Talysh - a non-Turkic Iranian people in the so-called "Azerbaijan" country.

Simple idea: broadcast TV shows from Armenia into Azerbaijan reminding the Talysh that they are Iranian, and to flee the army if called to fight.

287 were arrested in connection with the crimes committed by Armenians against Azerbaijanis.
Military Prosecutor of Azerbaijan Khanlar Veliyev told 'Azerbaijan' newspaper, Azerbaijani law-enforcement organizations have been investigating the criminal cases related to the intolerable torture of Azerbaijani captives and hostages by the Armenian armed forces in Nagorno Karabakh and other occupied regions of Azerbaijan, as well as in Armenia, killing or crippling them, provocations and terrorist attacks committed by the Armenians, forcible displacing of population, destruction of material resources and historical monuments in the residential areas, as well as other grave crimes committed by Armenians since 1988.

According to the order of the Azerbaijan’s General Prosecutor, Interior Minister and Minister of National Security, a joint investigative-operational group was established on December 18, 2003 for investigation and legal assessment of these grave crimes committed against the Azerbaijani people, bringing the guilty persons, who participated in organizing and committing these crimes, to justice on the basis of current legislation and applying the international organizations due to the facts of violation of international law.

This group was entrusted with renewal of proceedings and investigation of the criminal cases which were stopped in different times. The investigators identified that on February 25, 1992, at about 22.00, Armenian armed forces illegally crossing the borders of Azerbaijan, as well as illegal armed groups of Nagorno Karabakh’s Armenian nationalists together with 366th regiment of former USSR’s defense ministry attacked the Azerbaijani town of Khojaly. 2nd battalion of the regiment led by commander Zarvigorov Yuriy Yuryevich and major Ohanian Seyran Mushegovich, 3rd battalion led by Nabokikh Yevgeniy Alexandrovich, chief of staff of 1st battalion Chitchiyan Valeriy Isaakoich, as well as more than 50 Armenian and other servicemen participated in this attack.
More than 90 tanks, fighting vehicles, cannon, howitzer D-30 and other modern military technical means were used in the attack. Before this, the town was under the artillery fire and then tanks, fighting and armored vehicles entered the town.

The Armenian brigands killed peaceful civilians, women, children and elders, firing on them and crushing them under the tracks of their armored vehicles. The investigators identified that Armenian illegal armed forces pursued the Azerbaijanis, who could break the siege and leave the town, and killed them in the passages, forests. Armenian militants cruelly tortured the Azerbaijani captives and hostages.

Unfathomable savageries were committed against the civilians.

Khanlar Veliyev said 5379 people of the town were deported, 613 people, including 63 children, 106 women were killed, 8 families were killed, 487 were injured, 1275 were taken captive and hostage. Nothing is known about 150 hostages, including 68 women and 26 children.

The genocide, deportation, torture were investigated in line with the norms of the international law, decisions were passed to hold accountable 287, including 239, who committed war crimes against peace and humanity, and 48, who committed banditry, premeditated murders and other grave crimes. Court passed decision on their arrest, they were declared wanted, necessary documents were sent to the relevant bodies.

Military Prosecutor said according to the judgment of the examinations, as a result of the occupation of the town of Khojaly by Armenian armed forces, destruction of the state property, Azerbaijani state and citizens suffered damage of over AZN 140 million or $170 million. The investigation continues.

Participation of servicemen of officers of 366th regiment and other persons in Khojaly genocide has been fully proved.

He noted that decisions have been passed on making those persons accountable under the articles №107 (Deportation or forced exile of population), №113 (Application of tortures), №115.4 (Deliberate murder of persons provided in article 115.1 of the present Code – shall be punished by imprisonment for the term from twelve up to fifteen years or life imprisonment) and №116.0.17 (commitment of other actions connected to rape, sexual slavery, compulsory prostitution, compulsory sterilization, compulsory pregnancy, and also sexual violence) of the Criminal Code.

Moreover, decisions on their arrest have been passed by the courts and appropriate documents were to the Interpol National Central Bureau in Azerbaijan for implementation of international searches.

Azeris condemn US support for Armenia

A group of Azeri citizens gathered in front of US Embassy in Baku to condemn US support for Armenia and the so-called “separatists of the Nagorno-Karabakh.”


The rally was held on Thursday on the initiative of the youth branch of Azerbaijan's National Campaign Union.

The demonstrators denounced the US for not abolishing Section 907 of the US Freedom Support Act which bans any kind of direct US aid to the Azeri government and negligence towards the Khojaly massacre in which hundreds of ethnic Azeri civilians from the city were killed by Armenian and Russian armed forces during the Nagorno-Karabakh War.

Section 907 makes Azerbaijan the only exception to the countries of the former Soviet Union, to receive direct aid from United States government under the Freedom Support Act to facilitate economic and political stability. The US approved Section 907 of the US Freedom Support Act in 1992 against Azerbaijan.

According to a statement issued at the end of their rally, demonstrators said that the mediations of the US, Russia and France as presiding members of the Minsk Group of the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe (OSCE) have not helped resolve the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict.

The demonstrators also called on the US government to lift the Section 907 ban on Azerbaijan, cease supporting Armenia and officially recognize the Khojaly massacre.

Demonstrations ended peacefully, but police prevented the people from passing their statement to the US Embassy in Baku.

It has been more than 21 years since the Republic of Azerbaijan and Armenia engaged in an armed conflict over the 4400-square-kilometer (1,700-square-mile) mountainous Karabakh region.
