I thought all countries were the same...covers off indoors, covers on outdoors, especially during formal inspections.

Also thought it was funny that el presidente had his name in English on his chest...a little nato-ambitious, are we?

I respect Zoravar's expertise in this field but I would like to mention one little fact which may make any study of the military balance in the region look academic.

Since the Georgian war ( maybe earlier ) Russia does not get access to resupply the Gumri base instead has an agreement with Turkey to do so.

Zoravar may be able to shed some more light on this fact.

Zoravar may be able to shed some more light on this fact.

There was a rumour that Russia supplied its base from turkey, but this was refuted by the turks. Not saying it isn't true, but I wouldn't treat it as fact.

The smaller equipment they use cargo planes, not sure about the larger ones.

The starter of this thread would post this information every so often, based on his readings and knowledge of the military equipment used by the Armenian military and the azeri one. If you look in the earlier pages of this thread you will see some of his writings.

Who is to say the Russian base isn't supplied via Georgia via containers market "To Gyumri, Armenia...from Santa Klauski"

If Armenia can get goods via Georgia, why not the Russian base via in Armenia via an Armenian third party?

Practically everything that the base needs can be brought in by the good old IL-76 cargo plane

Both Armenian and Russian planes are used for that purposes. The routes used can be via Turkey, Georgia or Iran depending on the prevailing political situation.

The IL-76 has over 40 Tons payload capacity. It can bring in replacement boots, missiles and even tanks.

Note that a Russian IL-76 plane was used to bring in the fuel (uranium) for our nuclear reactor a couple of years ago.
