      My thoughts on the parade:

      - First of all, a big oooooorrrrrrrraaaaaaaaaah - oooooorrrrrrraaaaaaaaaah - ooooooorrrrrraaaaaaaah to our Soldiers, Officers, Commanders and Ministry of Defense.
      - Partcipating in the parade were units from all five armies, air force, special forces, border guards (Sahmanabah), peacekeepers (Khaghaghabah), military police, the military institutes as well as a unit from the Russian 102nd and our Holy Ggheragans.
      - The parade was clearly to show quality rather than quantities. They showed samples of key weaponry such as SCUDS, TOCHKA-U, S-300 etc.
      - Unlike the ealier Azeri parade where they showed everything they got. We held back a lot of stuff that we know we have such as METIS antitank missiles, STRELA-10 (SAM-13) anti aircraft missiles etc. etc.
      - Emphasis was placed on local made high-tech equipment such as GRUNG UAV and and surveillance and targeting gadgets.
      - Too much hype was created on this thread about SMERCHes. As much as I like that weapon, I was not surprised by its absence. We already have someting more or less similar to Smerch in the form of the Chinese WS-80. I was extremely pleased seeing the TOCHKA-U.This short range ballistic missile (with a range of 120 km) is super accurate and it is the weapon of choice to take out key Azeri positions. It is a TOCHKA missile that killed the Chechen first president Dudayev.

      - As the saying goes "The devil is in the details". For example: Have a look at the soldiers Kalashnikov guns:
The main type used in the Armenian Ared Forces is the AK-74 model chambered with the 5.45 x 39 round. Yet, there were none in the hands of our soldiers!!!!!
Almost every unit was equipped with shiny older model AKMs chambered with the 7.62 x 39 cartride. The exceptions were the borderguards (Sahmanabahs) who were carrying the new AK-102 they received earlier this year and the peackeepers (Khaghaghabah) who were carrying the AKS-74U both chambered with the 5.45 x 39 round.
I can only guess why the soldiers were issued the older AKMs for the parade: These were scratchless rifles that looked like new, possibly they are reserve stock units to be used only for parade purposes and in emergencies (war).

"Like new" AKM assault rifles were carried by most soldiers during the parade.

Sahmanabahs (borderguards) with the black AK-102. This is the slightly shorter version of the Kalashnikov family. A relatively recent model.

Our Khaghaghabahs (peacekeepers in Kosovo and Afghanistan) with the shortest member of the Kalashnikov family. The AKS-74U.

For those wondering, Akhmedov died alongside Ibrahimov (same attack).
