The armchair strategist in me was thinking in case of real war and an exchange, how our retaliation could be effective against the s-300 protected assets.
Mind you my thinking is in the comfort that we have in our military far superior strategists working on these issues !!!!

Anyway, my thoughts were around the fact with their “limited” number of s-300 systems could be overloaded with dummy missiles attacks.
Their s-300s would respond to an extend that their system missile tubes would be come empty and require reloading.

This would ( could) create a window of opportunity whereby for the duration of any reloading of their s-300 missile tubes their defended assets would be unprotected ( I have in mind their oil platforms).

This could be the best moment to come on them like a ton of bricks.
Londontsi, I can recommend this document in case you want to learn more about the S-300:

      The Azeris have 2 batteries: 2 x 4 x 4 = 32 missiles.
We have three divisions of S-300PT around Yerevan, each with 12 launchers. 3x12x4 = 144 missiles ready to fire
We also have at least two divisions of S-300PS in Syunik. Presumably each of 8 launchers. 2x8x4 = 64 missiles ready to fire

When I spent 5 months in the mountains of the high desert in Nevada by myself , and I climbed the tallest peaks , if I looked one way I could see lake pyramid . If at night I looked the other way , beyond the salt flats on the valley floor far below , about two mountain chains past was a row of lights .
Upon investigation I found an air force base . They had some very large planes that had 8 engines per plane , 4 per wing . I think they were B52s . Also some smaller ( much ) jets with wings shorter than I'm familiar with ( I'm not very knowledgable on this stuff ) . Also many more common fast fighter types .
No one knew I was in the mountains ( except all the animals ) .
Sometimes the big planes would fly around with two of these smaller short winged planes on each of the big planes wing tips . Cool .
Many times while I dropped down between mountain chains the more common fast fighter type jets would suddenly appear flying incredibly fast below the mountain tops ( well below ) and literally " wheedle " through the numerous connecting canyons .
I could see them comming but there was no sound .
I learned the hard way that when I saw them comming I had to emmediatly cover my ears because a LOUD sound was soon to follow and it hurt .

Politics is not about the pursuit of morality nor what's right or wrong
Its about self interest at personal and national level often at odds with the above.
Great politicians pursue the National interest and small politicians personal interests

Azeri Author Sends Unpopular Message To Armenians: 'We Can Live Together'

BAKU -- Political protests have become a frequent phenomenon in Azerbaijan. Literary protests, not so much.

But a new novel by a respected Azerbaijani writer prompted angry demonstrations this week, with angry crowds gathering outside a Baku apartment block, shouting "Shame!" and setting photos of the author, Akram Aylisli, alight.

The protesters' complaints were hardly aesthetic. Few, in fact, appeared to have read the book, "Stone Dreams," which has not been published in Azerbaijan and only recently appeared, in translated form, in the Russian literary journal "Druzhba narodov" (Friendship of the Peoples).

Instead, it's the subject matter of the novel that's raising tempers.

Aylisli's novel, which looks at the South Caucasus' bitterly fractious history, casts a sympathetic light not on his native Azerbaijan but its traditional rival, Armenia.
