77-year-old Armenian villager detained by Azerbaijani is mentally ill

              January 28, 2014 | 19:14

A 77-year-old Armenian villager who appeared in Azerbaijani captivity has mental disorder, head of Verin Karmraghbyur village Kamo Chobanyan told Armenian News-NEWS.am.

The head of village administration said Mamikon Khojoyan has been registered in mental hospital.

“The villagers saw him in the afternoon with a bucket in his hand. They asked where he was going. The man said he is going to gather grapes. Grapes in winter? The orchards are 8 kilometers far from the village. He went there and crossed the border accidentally,” Chobanyan explained.

The villager said he had learnt about the old man’s captivity from Azerbaijani media.

Azerbaijani media reported about an Armenian infiltrator but then were forced to admit a 65-year-old man was detained in an attempt to cross the border. Secretary of Azerbaijan’s commission on the POWs, missing persons and hostages Shahin Sailov said 65-year-old ( in reality 77-year-old) Khojoyan was stopped by the residents of Alibeyli village and was handed over to the servicemen. Local official said the citizen of Armenia was detained in an attempt to cross the river.

The funny thing about this is that a 77 year old mentally ill armenian manage to sneak past the azeri soldiers on the loc then get captured by other villagers maybe this guy could teach our special forces a thing or two.

With every published word azeris make them selfs look more silly and incompetent. First they had a shoutout with our subversive group and captured guide ( they are not even considering that modern subversive groups with GPS and other tech do not use guides). Next, that guard turns out to be a mentally challenged 77 year old man. Then there is the question they shoul ask themselfs is, how come a mentally ill 77 year old can cross their lines to be only captured by villagers in rear of the frontline, while their own special ops groups get decimated on their try? Shows clearly capabilities of each side right? And Echmiadzin jan, I truly believe that our special ops have their picknics regularly in azeri backcountry.

Wow, how stupid can those azeris be .
That 77 year old poor man is an Armenian agent from the special forces ? Seriously ? Like we don't have anyone to do that job to guide our army , or we don't have maps ...

Seriously they are making themselves more and more stupid day by day . Like Hakob said if that 77year old mentally ill man has crossed the border so easily I wonder what our real special troops can do ...

I hope that man can come back alive and well to Armenia.
