Is it me or does announcing our plans to take enemy attack positions kind of a dumb thing to do since you are telling them what we are going to do? Unless of courseitis meant to mislead..

Seems reasonable to me.
By announcing this, we are hoping to --- STOP --- the attacks. We are clearly saying; you attack us and you lose land.
Hopefully, if we are successful then these assaults will stop.

Armenian subversive group attack Azerbaijani Army’s post on frontline

Officer and warrant officer of the Azerbaijani Armed Forces were killed, one soldier was wounded

Baku – APA. “Armenian subversive group attempted to attack one of the positions of the Azerbaijani Armed Forces on the frontline in Fuzuli region on the night of 27 to 28 May,” APA reports quoting the Defense Ministry’s statement.



The statement says that the attempt was prevented as a result of the heroism and bravery of the soldiers and officers of the Azerbaijani Armed Forces. The enemies were forced to retreat because of losses. The Azerbaijani Armed Forces also suffered losses while preventing the attempt. 32-year old officer of the Armed Forces, Captain Fikret Mammadov Akif was killed while carrying out combat mission. 23-year old warrant officer Khudaverdi Abilov Farhad was killed and 20-year old soldier Mehman Mirzezadeh Dadashbala was wounded by an Armenian sniper. After receiving the first aid, wounded soldier was hospitalized. Currently, he is in critical condition, under the supervision of physicians.



Captain Fikret Mammadov Akif was proposed to be awarded “For Courage” medal for his bravery and personal courage in the battle-field. Under the order of Defense Minister, Colonel General Zakir Hasanov, the 3rd class medal “For distinguished military service” has been conferred on soldier Khudaverdi Abilov Farhad for personal courage in the battle-field.

The situation along frontline, where the Armenian provocation was prevented, is stable and under control of the Azerbaijani Armed Forces.

Ինչպես հաղորդում է ՊԲ մամուլի ծառայությունը, ՊԲ առաջապահ ստորաբաժանումները դիմել են պատասխան գործողությունների և, նրանց պատճառելով կորուստներ՝ հետ շպրտել ելման դիրքեր:

Դիվերսիոն հետախուզական գործողության այլ մանրամասները ճշտվում են:

Հայտնի են զոհված զինծառայողների անունները՝ 1982-ին ծնված կապիտան Մամեդով Ֆիքրեթ Աքիֆ օղլուն, ադրբեջանական կողմի պնդմամբ՝ «հայ դիպուկահարի գնդակից» սպանված, 1991-ին ծնված ենթասպա Աբիլով Խուդավերդի Ֆարհադ օղլուն։ Ծանր վիրավորվել է 1994-ին ծնված շարքային Միրզազադե Մեհման Դադաշբալա օղլուն։ Առաջին բուժօգնություն ցույց տալուց հետո նրան տեղափոխել են հոսպիտալ, ներկայումս նրա վիճակը ծանր է։

Ադրբեջանի պաշտպանության նախարարության փոխանցմամբ՝ մայիսի 27-ի երեկոյան ժամերին իբր «հայկական դիվերսիոն-հետախուզական խումբը փորձել է գրավել Ֆիզուլու ուղղության առաջնագծում ադրբեջանական զինուժի դիրքերից մեկը»։ Արդյունքում Ադրբեջանի ԶՈւ-ն ունի 2 զոհ, 1 ծանր վիրավոր։

Նշենք, որ հետևելով ադրբեջանական բաց աղբյուրներից հավաքագրած տվյալներին՝ ադրբեջանական զինուժը 2014-ի մայիս ամսվա ընթացքում ունի 6 զոհ, 20 վիրավոր։

Azerbaijani Army stages large-scale exercises

The Azerbaijani Armed Forces conduct large-scale military drills on the front zone.

The military exercises led by Defense Minister, Colonel-General Zakir Hasanov are underway in accordance with the combat training plan-2014, the ministry said on May 28.

The practical firearm and armored vehicle, mortar and rocket-artillery shooting, using modern methods of warfare was demonstrated during the exercises. The military aviation and air defense system were also observed...

Azerbaijan is interested in Pakistan’s long-range missiles, Pakistan's Ministry of Defense Industry told sources.

The representative of the Ministry told reliable sources that the parties had already conducted preliminary negotiations “There is no problem between us on the sale of these missiles. High-level political and military relations between the two countries let us transfer the latest technologies to Azerbaijan without any problems." The representative said that they are ready not only for the delivery of long-range missiles, but also all the defense systems needed by Azerbaijan.

He didn’t say purchase of which missiles is being discussed.
