This guy is very smart. What he says makes perfect sence.
We don't have the national ideology necessary for Armenia's future. Instead of developing that, which is necessary in order to guarantee our suvival and prosperity, we are debating who is going to protect us. which side is better, west or Russia.
He is unbiased. He brings the example of georgia. That the only positive from russia is their military presence. Eurasian economic union is just a guarantee in keeping this balance in his opinion.
He also answers to questin about the arms sale by russia to Azerbaijan. It is a means of keeping Azerbaijan under russian controll. The scope of the sales makes us worried rightfully, but the fact is that this armaments need sevice and parts. There are russians in azerbaijan giving that service. We know about gabala base closure, but there are other russian bases there too.
He correctly states that if not russia, then azerbaijan would go to west for arms and then we could not compete with them in arms race.
He looks at russia as needed military presence but that's all. He does not have ilusions of economic prosperity in eurasian economic union. as a matter of fact he does not have it in european partnership either as long as we do not develop national ideology for it.

On the side, in my opinion, Serj Sargsian's stetements about russian supplies to azerbaijan were not meant for russian government, but for western audience. This kind of speaches do not bear weight in russian politics.
This speech is rather part of politics with west.

worlds worst swimmers? I know arabs have that reputation, but damn. Maybe we should unleash the Sarsang reservoir on them, problem could take care of itself.
