This issue of 2000km is highly questionable in my opinion...2000kms is not a threat to Armenia. They can hit Armenia is shorter range missiles, but 2000km is a threat to both Iran and Russia...i'm not sure azerbaijan would be allowed to have such missiles..the 1st ppl who will be threathened by such weapons are the iranians and the russians...they rnt gonna be too happy about this!

PanARMENIAN.Net - The recent tensions at the line of contact between the Nagorno Karabakh (Artsakh) Republic and Azerbaijani armed forces and the Armenian-Azeri border can be explained by two factors, a Russian expert said.
“On the one hand, Azerbaijan’s aggression is an order from outside aiming to destabilize the South Caucasus. The Aliyev clan is integrated into the conditional ‘western colony club’ and has accounts, projects and other affairs abroad. That’s why some hints are enough to start escalation,” Denis Dvornikov told PanARMENIAN.Net
The second factor, according to him, is that Aliyev has become a hostage to his own bellicose rhetoric. “Armenophobia is a jinn which can ‘bite’ Aliyev if he stop demonstrating his intolerance towards Armenia,” Dvornikov said.
“The meeting in Sochi proved that the nonsense Aliyev usually tells his public doesn’t bear repeating. Getting ready for the trilateral meeting, the Azerbaijani leader knew that in the presence of the Russian and Armenian Presidents as well as numerous journalists and international observers he had better position himself as a peace-loving and law-abiding politician. Such an image, although quite comfortable for himself, is not acceptable for his voters, who are stuffed with hatred. That’s why the bloody incidents at the line of contact are a kind of sacrifice to gain domestic approval,” he added.
According to the expert, the situation will stabilize little by little. “Aliyev will have to show that he is not dancing to Moscow's tune. That’s why provocations will continue for some more time and then subside,” he explained.
Dvornikov believes that there will be no large-scale hostilities. “First, Aliyev is clever enough to understand that his western partners can involve him in a slaughter and then step aside. He also understands that as long as he is tolerated by Moscow, his regime is safe. Besides, with launching a new war he risks leaving all of his expensive weaponry to Karabakh while the damaged infrastructure will bring Azerbaijan back to its beginnings,” he said.

This just now shows that Russia, Iran, and Armenia share a common interest
They might now all agree that they would enjoy seeing a huge change in the Azeri leadership and government..Possibly some buffer zone nations between them. Liberate the oppressed minorities?

APA reports that the statement was released by the Azerbaijani Defense Ministry’s press service.

The Defense Ministry reports that this criminal who has a big share in the massacre of civilians living in Khojaly, different cities and towns of Nagorno-Karabakh as well as settlements of seven surrounding districts around it will soon render a full account before the Azerbaijani people and the International Court of Justice.

“The Azerbaijani state is just aiming to restore its territorial integrity and clean up our lands, Nagorno-Karabakh, from Armenian separatists. As regards ballistic missiles that Serzh Sargysan had mentioned, we confidently state that these military equipments that are under the authority of the Armenian Armed Forces are just incomparable to the most modern weapons and equipment owned by Azerbaijan.

Old, disordered, obsolete weapons and ammunition left from the former Soviet-era as well as fuel-engine Scud missiles (known as “kerosinka”) are not just incapable of destroying any facility, but also don’t even have the capability to rise into air”, the statement said.


The statement also said if Armenia takes any military action against Azerbaijan, the Azerbaijani army, which is equipped with the most modern, precise and newest weapons, will destroy any military infrastructure or military facilities in Armenia’s territory: “Sargysan’s statements in the interview is another proof that the Armenian state and its military-political criminal regime have not yet abstained from their aggressive policy. And that will bring about the fall and whole destruction of the Armenian state.

From the few years that i lived in iran i can say that with or without azeris acquiring these missles iran is already interested into breaking down of modern azerbaijani republic since they aren't anything for them but a headache,the fact of them claiming northern territories of iran and few internal pan turkist activities of iranian azeries put them into fear of revolution and rising of new southern azerbaijan,this can lead to kurds balooch and all other minorities to follow azeris path thus breaking of iran into few small republic.there were also rumors spread among armenians in iran during the first war that there was weapons coming from germany to persian gulf then shipped thru tabriz to chasts in goris i dont know how close to reality that is but iran can be a potential Allie in the next war.
