How much do they pay a month? I remember Serzh mentioning conscript pay when there was the suggestion to arm civilians

He will have to go through a psychological and medical evaluation first, which would take weeks. If he experienced trauma or is diagnosed with PTSD or any other kind of syndrome then he won't be seeing service for a while

Lesson number one......Know your location/position at all time. If lost follow protocol.
He should return and finish his service.......it will be the best way to deal/heal with his PTSD

Շուրջ 2 տասնամյակ առաջ` հայոց բանակի կազմավորմանը զուգընթաց, ստեղծվեցին նաև տանկային ստորաբաժանումները և 1996-ից հոկտեմբերի 8-ը նշվում է որպես Տանկիստի օր: Տանկային ստորաբաժանումները ցամաքային զորքերի անբաժանելի մասը և հիմնական հարվածային ուժն են:
Անվիճելի է, որ հայ տանկիստներն անցել են երկար և փառավոր ուղի: Նրանք իրենց խիզախությամբ աչքի են ընկել ինչպես Հայրենական Մեծ պատերազմի տարիներին, այնպես էլ Արցախյան պատերազմի ժամանակ, որի ընթացքում իրենց գրագետ մարտավարության շնորհիվ հայ տանկիստները կարողացել են ոչ միայն վարել բազում նշանակալից մարտեր, այլև նվազագույնի հասցնել սպառազինության ոլորտում հակառակորդի ռազմական գերազանցությունը: Վստահաբար կարելի է ասել, որ Արցախյան ազատամարտի տարիներին հայկական տանկային ստորաբաժանումները գերազանց կատարեցին իրենց առջև դրված խնդիրները` թե հարձակման, թե պաշտպանության առումով:
Արցախյան պատերազմի զրկանքներն ու դժվարությունները կրած հայ տանկիստները ստանձնեցին նորաստեղծ հայկական բանակի առաջին զինվորների ուսուցիչների պատվաբեր պատասխանատվությունը: Եվ այսօր հպարտորեն կարող ենք ասել, որ մեր զինված ուժերն ունեն մարտունակ և կայացած տանկային զորքեր: Կան նաև վերանորոգման համապատասխան գործարաններ, որոնք լիարժեք կատարում են տանկերի և այլ զրահատեխնիկայի վերանորոգման ու արդիականացման աշխատանքներ:
Շարունակելով Արցախյան ազատամարտի հաղթական ավանդույթները՝ հայ տանկիստներն իրենց հիանալի են դրսևորում նաև այսօր: Դրա վառ ապացույցներից մեկն էլ վերջերս Մոսկվայի մերձակայքում գտնվող «Ալաբինո» զորավարժարանում անցկացված «Տանկային բիաթլոն-2014» միջազգային մրցույթն էր, որտեղ ՀՀ ԶՈւ տանկիստները կարողացան զբաղեցնել երկրորդ տեղը՝ զիջելով միայն ռուս տանկիստներին: Կարևոր է նաև այն հանգամանքը, որ, ի տարբերություն մյուս երկրների, որոնց կազմում ներգրավված էին փորձառու տանկիստներ, ՀՀ զինված ուժերը առավելապես ներկայացնում էին ժամկետային զինծառայողներ:
Տանկիստի օրվա կապակցությամբ լրատվամիջոցների մի շարք ներկայացուցիչներ հոկտեմբերի 8-ին այցելել են հարավարևմտյան ուղղությամբ տեղակայված տանկային զորամասերից մեկը: Լրագրողներին է ներկայացվել տանկիստների ծառայողական առօրյան, տանկային ստորաբաժանման անցած մարտական ուղին: Լրագրողները նաև տանկիստների ներգրավմամբ անցկացված ցուցադրական վարժությունների ականատեսն եղան: Տանկիստները ևս մեկ անգամ վկայեցին, որ ունեն մարտավարամասնագիտական բարձր պատրաստություն, մարտունակ են և պատրաստ՝ անհրաժեշտության դեպքում արժանի հակահարված տալ հակառակորդին:

I don't believe there is any pay for military service, which makes sense considering the size of the army relative to the population. As far him going back, I think he's choosing voluntarily to return to service rather than being forced to.

1 think i dont understand, Injigulyan had problems with eyes, he dont see thats why he got lost in border, why the xxxx they let him do military service

Like Mher was saying I also do not think there is any ( at least significant ) pay for conscrips but
serving in the army on a periodic contract basis is 150,00 AMD plus various benefits as I recall from the Presidents comments.

It is not a secret that the army has problem with conscript numbers.
They are trying to supplement these numbers with periodic contracts, with paid salaries.

The reason for conscripts shortfall is two fold.

During the bad years the birth-rate fell sharply. Those births would have provided todays soldiers.
Second reason is migration. Many young families who migrated, their kids were born abroad which also does not help.

No doubt the army is a bit relaxed with filtering of youngsters for conscription.

Azerbaijani serviceman killed as Armenians violated ceasefire

Baku. Hafiz Heydarov – APA. An Azerbaijani serviceman was killed as Armenian armed units again fired on the positions of the Azerbaijani Armed Forces on October 9 at 14:35, it was posted on the Defense Ministry’s press service, APA reports.

Extended serviceman, junior sergeant Ahmadov Tural Maharram oghlu, born in 1990, who was drafted from Aghdam region, was shot to death by Armenian soldiers.

Criminal case has been launched on the fact. The Military Prosecutor’s Office is investigating the fact.

The leadership of the Defense Ministry offers deep condolences to the family and relatives of the killed soldier and wishes them patient.
