Those are 30mm GSh-30K twin-barrel cannons I believe.

The twin barrels located on the forward lower right side of the fuselage by the nose tire....those are cannons/guns.......30mm kick azz rounds.

the two half moon ducts you see by the engine air intake located top of the center fuselage facing forward is to control the amount of air entering the engine at different flight conditions would be my Guess but they will have no effect on cooling down the exhaust temperature at all. The engine combustion chamber needs to be at the correct ITT (inlet Temp Turbine) and EGT (Exhaust Gas Temp).....In fact they could just be fixed with screens around the opening to the engine compressors.....too much air can cause compressor stalls and even engine flame out.

You can see the the Exhaust duct on both sides of the upper center fuselage just bellow the main rotor blades and they don't seem to have any augmentation for exhaust temp control.....so short answer is no.

Yes, I believe I can speak for the three of us when I say ; seek fresh air somewhere else during the firing of these two guns (cannons).
On an entirely different note, what is your experience living in London?
Have you ever thought about giving "us" (HYEclub) little snippets about life in ...?
Certainly is an interest on my part & wouldn't be surprised if others as well.
