I wonder what Armenia did to climb up so rapidly. It used to rank the lowest in the region one or two years ago.

Correction: Not lowest in militarization but "most peacefull in south caucasus". http://www.panorama.am/en/society/20...0/gpi-armenia/
I can decide whether this is good or bad. Lol im gonna go with good....

And how come Greece isn't helping us out? I thought we were best friends...

Well a number of Armenian officers get trained in Greece every year. Also it is rumored that Greece sold Armenia Milan ATGMs.

Friendship has nothing to do with cooperation. You have no friends, only interests. Thats the way politics work.

Last year Armenia ranked 4th in militarization, its bumped up to 3. Its most likely because of the large amount of conscripts (former and current), huge funds being directed to the police and internal troops, and large amount of civil servants.

Uniforms, gun distribution within police forces, etc are taken into account. Its a bit strange to see your everyday cop with a beret, cargo shorts, and combat boots.

Police State? I think every Armenian should own a AK and at least 500 rds.

Armenia is ridiculously safe compared to just about anywhere else but it's true that our police seem overly militarized based on the videos we've seen. Also not sure if it's considered normal for your internal security forces to have half the budget size of your military. Anyone know if that's the norm?

Armenian Police Chief Rules Out ‘Revolution’
The chief of the Armenian police, Vladimir Gasparian, insisted on Wednesday that Gagik Tsarukian’s Prosperous Armenia Party (BHK) and its opposition allies will not seek to topple the government with street protests.
