Baku-APA. Iran`s embassy in Baku has issued a statement condemning the
"parliamentary elections" held by the separatist regime in Azerbaijan`s
Nagorno Karabakh region which is under Armenia`s occupation, APA
reports quoting AzerTAc.

The statement says Iran does not recognize the "parliamentary
elections" in Nagorno Karabakh and that the country has not sent its
representative to the region in connection with the "elections".

It basically says that Azeri media (again) distorts truth and statements made by ranking officials, or "accommodates" them to fit their interests. It says, for example, that while many officials, like on the UN, EU, etc., made statements saying they do not recognize NKR's elections, and that they support the resolution on the conflict on the 3 basic principles: self-determination, non use of force, territorial integrity, the Azeri media tends to not mention the first two and only focuses on the first one...and furthermore, they add the phrases "support the territorial integrity of Azerbaijan" and "Armenian aggressors", which were of course never made. In the list of officials, we have Ban Ki Moon, Russian and Iranian officials.

The Iranian case just happened some days ago, and as well the Iranian FM released and statement saying that those words Azeri media posted allegedly saying "occupied Azerbaijani territories" was false.
