One of the enclaves in Armenia doesnt even have buildings within its territory, its a damn park.
The small enclaves are irrelevant as Chubs mentioned and nobody on either side is going to attempt to "liberate" what amounts to the equivalent of parking lots.

As far as I know Armenia never really lost Shahumian. The area was unanimously Armenian before the war. However in 1991, Soviet and Azeri forces together deported the population, and from the outbreak of the war Armenians were attempting to retake it. Serious attempts were made towards the end when Armenia was on the offensive but without results.

Part of this was intentional as the current borders of Artsakh are ideal for defense as they form nearly a perfect quadrilateral, minimizing the length of the borders and making the most of higher ground and mountains.

I find it unnecessary for Armenians to create these maps claiming these areas that we don't control. Because if we're going to follow that route why not include Western Armenia and Nakhichevan, etc. We control what we control, and that should be our focus. If there is a war and Armenia makes advances, we'll take what is reasonable and strategically advantageous. Not what anything anyone considers "historic territory" or anything of the like, since no Armenians live there.

I feel the author doesn't really know a whole lot about the topic. Azerbaijan doesn't have any advantage, and more importantly, this advantage is definitely not widening. That's why I don't think war is imminent or even realistic in 2015. Simply because if Azerbaijan had an advantage and thought they had a chance, they would have invaded by now.

Armenians controlled Shahumian before the goranboy offensive during this offensive we lost Shahumian and most of Martakert. We took back most of Martakert, exept for a piece with some villages in the east that is still controlled by Azerbaijan, but we didn't take Shahumian.

Also showing the areas on maps is important for the history of the conflict and also to countering Azeri claims of Armenians taking Azer inhabited land by showing that Azerbaijan took Armenian inhabited lands.

It was smart of Armenian forces to retreat back into the highlands instead of defending the regions below in the flatlands. Its gonna be an uphill fight for the Azeris if they try to take it back, and Armenians are more than willing to kick them in their heads.

Arshak Zakaryan visits the site of the Azeri attack and more. Each video is 20 minutes long but worth it.

Thank you for the videos Federate.

I hope I am not flippant under the cercumstances,
at the beginning of the video a soldier was obviously struggling to cut some logs for firewood.

I had seen this device on youtube which appears to ease cutting those logs.
It is something that it could be made in Armenia and provided to our troops or indeed far away villages.

About Asker dead Say a Word

Two days ago some Armenian media published unofficial information perished under an avalanche in the mountains of Nakhchivan of Azerbaijan Asker: Senior Lieutenant Anara Kerimov and enlisted Mehdi Zeynalova.

It was also reported three Asker wounded in a shootout with Armenian soldiers in Beylagan region.

Azerbaijani media then fell silent in confusion, and the Ministry of Defense of Azerbaijan gained courage in the genus formalin, in ordinary cases, used for long-term storage of corpses askerni. Hung in the air all appeal to the Minister of Defense of Azerbaijan Z. Hasanov requests dead Asker put in a word.

Insist on the death of A. Karimov and M. Zeynalov did not we, "Voskanapat" for example, is satisfied by the very fact of death askerni.

However, today, April 9, Azerbaijani media finally got permission to publish reports of deaths unlucky climbers - askers. Well, better late than never. This - as regards information. As for the fact of death askers, in this case the statement acquires a different formulation: better yesterday than today.
