bakwho have been purchasing weapons for years now in the amount of billions - what have they done with it? Only reason why Armenian DM is saying we are concerned is because the stupid journalist and wannabe arm chair military experts keep talking smack in Armenia so this is just to keep them happy.

Opening of airport in Stepanavan is excellent news. We need the one in Goris to open as well, its strategic value cannot be understated.

I just posted this link because it's been like a million times that armenian MOD says armenia is acquiring new weapons and is signing deals with russia,also last year,the president said that armenia has missiles with a range of more than 300 kms,and let's not forget when the PM said that armenia possesses weapons than countries that are 50 times bigger don't,we were promised to see some new weapons in 2014,we're now in the middle of 2015 and we didn't see anything.Perhaps it's some kind of propanganda?

Today, around 10 am five restored ME109s fleu overhead in formation in San Fernando valley. I think it was a training for show or something. It was really amazing.
From the time I heard the roar just 3-5 seconds later they were overhead. Those WW2 german plains were a scary sight. I could imagine, a soldier terrifyed and helpless on ground against them dropping deadly loads.In another 2-3 seconds they have dissapeared.
Then it came to mind our SU25s and their low flight trainings. Like this 1st picture. What is it? 30-50 meters high?
You would not hear a thing. By the time you know they are coming, they will have dropped their load and dissapeared behind hills.
I know about modern aircraft defences. But will a rocket follow anything that low? I know they can be chased by other aircraft. But chasers have to fly much higher in order to find any sneaking craft below in rugged and chooped terrain like ours. They in turn can be brought down by missiles before doing any harm. Can they?
In any case. I think there is some real value in those low flight trainings.
But someone with more knowledge can tell more.

When I was in Karabakh back in 2014 summer I noticed they put some tramway net like thing connecting from one mountains to the other,supposedly to protect against low flying jets,an easy and cheap solution.i think some one once posted a pic here long time ago

Armenia doesn't need to parade around new weapons every time it acquires them.

Ever thought about letting your enemy 'keep' guessing what you have ? The DM of Armenia as well as the President have dropped a number of hints along the way at what Armenia is capable of doing. Should the time come and god forbid it does come to that watch what the Armenian Army will do.

Զինված ուժերի 2015 թվականի ուսումնական պատրաստության պլանի համաձայն` մայիսի 20-ից 23-ը ՊՆ մարշալ Բաղրամյանի անվան զորավարժարանում անցկացվել է «Լավագույն գումարտակային ականանետային դասակ» համաբանակային մրցույթի եզրափակիչ փուլը: Մրցույթին մասնակցող դասակներն իրենց ունակություններն են դրսեւորել մարտական հրաձգություն, կրակային խնդիրների կատարման եւ ֆիզիկական պատրաստություն վարժություններում: Հայաստանի եւ Արցախի զինված ուժերի փոխգործակցության շրջանակում մրցույթին մասնակցել են նաեւ պաշտպանության բանակի ներկայացուցիչները:

Ամենամյա մրցույթն անցկացվել է 3 փուլով: Երրորդ՝ եզրափակիչ փուլին մասնակցել են ՀՀ եւ ԼՂՀ զինված ուժերի լավագույն ականանետային դասակներից ձեւավորված 6 թիմեր, յուրաքանչյուր թիմում` 10-ական զինծառայող: Մրցաշարն առաջին անգամ անցկացվում էր կենտրոնացված տարբերակով, եւ մասնակիցները մրցույթին մեծ պատասխանատվությամբ են մոտեցել:

Մասնակից դասակների միջեւ ծավալվել է անզիջում պայքար: Նախ` ստուգվել են մասնակիցների ֆիզիկական կարողությունները, այնուհետեւ ականանետային դասակները մասնագիտական պատրաստության նորմացույցներ են հանձնել: Ստուգվել են նաեւ մարտական հրաձգության նրանց ունակություները:

Լավագույն ականանետային դասակին ընտրելու համար ձեւավորվել էր հանձնաժողով, որի նախագահ, փոխգնդապետ Պավել Թոփչյանի խոսքերով` նախորդ տարիների համեմատ բարձրացել է դասակների մարտավարամասնագիտական պատրաստության մակարդակը, կատարելագործվել են մարտական հրաձգությամբ կրակային խնդիրների կատարման եւ կրակի կառավարման հմտությունները:

Երեք օր տեւած համաբանակային մրցույթի արդյունքում հաղթող է ճանաչվել պաշտպանության բանակի մոտոհրաձգային գումարտակի ականանետային դասակը: Երկրորդ եւ երրորդ տեղերը զբաղեցրել են համապատասխանաբար 5-րդ եւ 2-րդ բանակային զորամիավորումների ներկայացուցիչները: Մրցանակային տեղեր զբաղեցրած դասակները ՀՀ ԶՈՒ ԳՇ պետ, գեներալ-գնդապետ Յուրի Խաչատուրովի հրամանով պարգեւատրվել են պատվոգրերով:
