Armenia hosts Belarus army air defense group

A Belarusian military working group, led by the first deputy commander and chief of staff of the air defense troops and air force of the country’s armed forces, is in Armenia from Monday to Thursday.

The Belarusian group, together with representatives from the Department of Air Defense Troops of Armenia’s Armed Forces, will work at the air defense units of the Armenian army.

Armenia deputy defense minister clarifies Iran agenda

An Armenian delegation, led by First Deputy Minister of Defense Davit Tonoyan, was on a working visit to Iran on Sunday and Monday.

The main objective of this trip was to clarify the agenda of Armenian-Iranian cooperation in the defense sector, and to outline the respective future events.

Tonoyan also met with the Iranian Minister of Defense and Armed Forces Logistics, Brigadier General Hossein Dehghan, and his deputy, Brigadier General Firouz Masihpour.

The interlocutors discussed regional and international security issues as well as latest developments with respect to the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict.

In addition, Tonoyan conveyed to Dehghan Armenian Defense Minister Seyran Ohanyan’s invitation to Armenia. Brigadier General Dehghan accepted the invitation with delight and promised to visit Armenia this year.

The Armenian delegation also paid visits to the Malek-Ashtar University of Technology, Center for Strategic Research, and the ETKA Organization of Iran.

During the talks at these visits, the discussants explored the opportunities for expanding Armenian-Iranian cooperation in military education, and development of collaboration in logistics, especially in supplies.

Armenian Defense Minister visits military unit

Armenian Defense Minister Seyran Ohanyan paid an unannounced visit to a military unit of Armenian Armed Forces on early Tuesday morning, the press service of Armenian Defense Ministry reports.

The Minister inspected the organization of the military service, including the morning procedures and physical exercises.

At the end of the visit, in order to eliminate the shortcomings, he gave instructions to the commanders.

“Seyran Ohanyan’s remarks on the situation along the front line are of the series of empty statements and pledges that are typical to his character”

Baku. Agha Jafarli – APA. “Armenian Defense Minister Seyran Ohanyan’s remarks on the situation in Nagorno-Karabakh and along the front line, which he made Monday during a briefing at the parliament, are of the series of loose statements and pledges that are typical to his character,” the Defense Ministry said in a statement to APA.

“Armenia’s military-political leadership appears to have forgotten the heavy losses the country gave on the front line in 2014 and this year. If the Armenian people do not want to get such blows anew and dozens of coffins going back to their houses, they must demand their government pulls Armenian armed forces out of occupied Azerbaijani lands immediately and once and for all,” the statement said.

The statement goes on to warn that the Armed Forces of Azerbaijan will otherwise, with its right to retaliate against the invader under the leadership of Supreme Commander-in-Chief, President Ilham Aliyev, immediately prevent any provocation of the adversary with a superior force and destroy it.
