Did we ever showed Russians money for the Mig's? Probably Not

First they are very expensive, even with discount.
Second Russia wouldn't want us to have it because we can destroy Azerbaijan. With Mig 29s and upgraded SU-25s we will pave a road to Baku for our forces.
Third we still live in the mentality of defense only and air superiority is not required. Missiles will do

This type of thinking is outdated and dangerous. To achieve victory in todays war theaters you need air superiority, no ifs or but about but.
In Artsakh we are only playing the defense game.

Just to add an Airforce by itself cannot win wars but it can soften up the ground for the Army.

As “Armenpress” was informed from the Department of Information and Mass Media of the President’s Staff of the Republic of Armenia, the interlocutors discussed issues concerning the implementation process of the decisions made during CSTO Collective Security Council session in Dushanbe, as well as priorities of Armenia’s presidency of the Organization.

Armenian President and CSTO Secretary General touched upon the issues of security maintenance in the Caucasian region of the Collective Security Organization.

Serzh Sargsyan and Nikolay Bordyuzha discussed the situation caused by the ceasefire violation on Armenia-Azerbaijan border and on the contact line of Karabakh-Azerbaijan opposing armies.

YEREVAN. – Chief of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Armenia, Colonel General Yuri Khachaturov, on Tuesday received the US consulting group that assists in the Strategic Defense Review of the country.

The American military experts have arrived in Armenia to assist in the development of the five-year plan for the development of the country’s force structure and defense within the framework of the said strategic review.
