There you go....no matter how much tolerance we have shown over the years we are the aggressors. Poor Azerbaijan is being bully by bad Armenians. Bad bad bad.

It makes you want to show to them what bad can be.

A senior researcher of the Begin-Sadat Center for Strategic Studies
of the Israeli Bar-Ilan University, Alexander Murinson, proved in his
article published in the Washington Times that the Armenian side is
the aggressor in the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict.

He noted that this fact is recognized by the international community,
as evidenced by the UN resolutions demanding the de-occupation of
the Kalbajar and Agdam districts of Azerbaijan.

According to him, the recent judgment in the case 'Chiragov and others
      v. Armenia' on June 16th 2015 at the ECHR may also be included on
the evidence list. "The European Court's ruling, the most definitive
statement based on international law to date, made Armenia culpable
as the aggressor and the occupier of Azerbaijani lands. A ruling by
such an institution as the European Court of Human Rights, which
cannot be suspected of favoring Azerbaijan, finally confirmed and
took away any question that Armenia, in fact, is the culprit in the
case of Nagorno-Karabakh occupation," Trend cited him as saying.

"It is, indeed, a conundrum when one nation, in this case Azerbaijan,
plays by all the rules, seeks remedies to their grievances in a court
of law, even repeatedly offers equitable peace and the other, Armenia,
continues to act as a rogue nation, lawless, turning their proverbial
noses up at international institutions, international courts and the
rule of law," Alexander Murinson stressed.

The recent Russian airspace incursions of Turkey from Syrian operations are a big deal. Russo-Turkish friction means Russo-Azeri relations decline in turn.

Nato Secretary-General Jens Stoltenberg says Russia's violation of Turkish airspace over the weekend "does not look like an accident".

Armenia prides itself on being the first nation to formally adopt Christianity (early 4th century). Despite periods of autonomy, over the centuries Armenia came under the sway of various empires including the Roman, Byzantine, Arab, Persian, and Ottoman. During World War I in the western portion of Armenia, the Ottoman Empire instituted a policy of forced resettlement coupled with other harsh practices that resulted in at least 1 million Armenian deaths. The eastern area of Armenia was ceded by the Ottomans to Russia in 1828; this portion declared its independence in 1918, but was conquered by the Soviet Red Army in 1920.

The above is from the CIA world fact book. Wasn't the eastern area of Armenia ceded by the Persians to Russia in 1828 through the Treaty of Turkmenchai?
