The Turks feel utterly powerless about achieving any of their aims in Syria as now their regional allies, the Turkmen are getting their butts handed to them by Syrian forces. ISIS/ISIL/Daesh hs become the focus of all Syrian operations from the US/NATO and Russians as the ragtag groups of "rebels" are being rightly vaporized and the humiliates and alienates the Turks. Good. I sincerely believe Russia is going to turn up the heat in terms of short-term and longterm countermeasures. Turkey is trying to punch well-above their weight and they will lose. NATO needs to seriously review their relations with Turkey though I doubt this will happen.
The only reason it will not happen is that USA will not allow it. I think the European countries have been done with the Turk for a long time now. It will be interesting to see the reaction of the European NATO members to these Turkish provocations.

Putin called it a "Stabbing in the back", it was obviously seen coming as Syrian forces had been pushing for gains in Latakia vs Turkmens backed by Turkey. Turkish-Russian relations will lose their momentum big time after this incident, and I believe we have to act in all dimensions to capitalize on the deterioration of these relations.

The reports suggest one of the pilots was dead when he landed with his parachute.

It is funny position for his arms to be, I mean landing dead yet his arm above his head/shoulder in that manner.

          ,
Politics is not about the pursuit of morality nor what's right or wrong
Its about self interest at personal and national level often at odds with the above.
Great politicians pursue the National interest and small politicians personal interests

            ,
He was shot by these Turkish bastards on his way down. It matters not if they killed him in the air or after he landed. You can hear the Islamic cheers from his killers..they will meet their god very soon.

It was a F-16 that shot the SU-24.
I imagine , given its age , that the SU-24 could do nothing to avoid it?

These Turkish animals need to be kicked off Nato for openly supporting ISIS.
