Another suicide in Armenian army

Another suicide was committed in the Armenian army at 9:30 a.m. Yerevan time, September 8. According to the preliminary information, the provision store manager, Junior Sergeant Artur Hakobyan inflicted a gunshot wound on his head, the press service of the RA Ministry of Defense told NEWS.am.

For two years Hakobyan worked as provision store manager, and the suicide was committed there. The RA defense office does not explain the reason for the suicide or how the soldier got a gun. According to press reports, Artur committed suicide using the gun of one of the soldiers. He asked the soldier to help him with a box. After that he took the soldier’s gun and killed himself. Another version says Artur had family problems, which forced him to commit suicide. He had a wife and a child.

RA Defense Ministry: Azerbaijani unmanned aerial vehicle has not entered even NKR’s airspace, let alone Armenia

PanARMENIAN.Net - Head of the Public Relations and Press Department at the RA Ministry of Defense Vardan Avetisyan refuted information, according to which Azerbaijani unmanned aerial vehicles were allegedly freely flying over Karabakh and even entered into airspace of Goris, while the Armenian air defense was unable to shoot down them.

In reality, according to Avetisyan, two months ago Azerbaijan tested its unmanned aerial vehicle near Artsakh’s airspace. As soon as the NKR air defense detected and drew a bead on it, the aircraft has left this territory.

Avetisyan added that after the Azerbaijani unmanned aerial vehicle’s detection, the NKR air defense was put on an alert.

No sugar for Armenian soldiers

The Hraparak newspaper reports that restrictions on some food products have recently been in effect in the Armenian army. Soldiers are now “consuming” the pickles produced by the Artfood Company, with their shelf-life expired. For months soldiers have not been provided with bedclothes. Moreover, now they do not get their portions of sugar. The Parliament member and businessmen Samvel Aleksanyan sup[plies sugar top the Armenian army. It does not mean, however, that he “is consumed by greed” now.

The newspaper’s source report that the commander and ration store managers of military units just embezzle the funds provided for sugar, palming off cheap biscuits on the soldiers.

Ceasefire regime was violated in line of contact

During the night of September 9 the ceasefire regime was violated in the line of contact of Nagorno-Karabakh and Azerbaijan. Azerbaijani armed forces fired more than 793 shots from different types of weapons.

Defensive positions of Hadrut, Martuni, Askeran and Martakert recorded the most intensive shots.
According to NK Defense Army press service, appropriate measures were taken to cease the rival. NK Defense Army recorded no casualties.

Armenian army was shaken by a mutiny. Contract soldiers in the N military unit in Ararat province of the country threw down their arms and refused to fulfill order of commanders on September 10, APA reports quoting the Armenian newspapers.

The contract soldiers demanded a gas-stove to make a meal during the combat duty, but the commander didn’t allow because it was against the rules of combat duty and fire security, information and public relations department of the Armenian defense ministry reported. The soldiers protested the commanders’ decision.

Representatives of the joint army command visited the military unit to investigate the incident. After the talks with the personnel the problem was solved. “The contract soldiers of the N military unit continue their service”, the defense ministry reported.
