PanARMENIAN.Net - The Nagorno Karabakh Defense Army controls and has the upper hand in the northern, southern and central sections of the contact line, Armenian Defense Minister said Tuesday, April 6.

“Situated deep behind the Defense Army, Talish and Nor Seysulan are under Karabakh troops’ control,” Seyran Ohanyan said.
According to Ohanyan, the Armenian and Azerbaijani chiefs of General Staff reached the agreement on cessation of fire at a Moscow-hosted meeting.
“In the framework of the mutual assistance agreement, the Defense Army’s combat readiness, its military capabilities, the overall arrangement of defense and the degree of preparedness give grounds for stating that the Karabakh troops are ready to give an adequate response to any activities,” Ohanyan said.

So it seems the UAV's mostly to stop counter attacks and that's why several tanks have been knocked out and why NKR troops have not advanced further thus far.

MOSCOW (Sputnik) — About 50 Armenian nationals were killed or went missing during the four days of fighting in the disputed Nagorno-Karabakh region, an adviser to the self-proclaimed Nagorno-Karabakh Republic’s permanent mission to Russia said Wednesday.

The violence escalated in the mountainous region on Friday. On Tuesday, after almost four days of intense clashes, Azerbaijan and Armenia agreed on an immediate ceasefire in Nagorno-Karabakh.

"In four days, about 50 people were killed on the Armenian side, over 100 were injured. Out of those killed, whom I call killed, about 26 are missing. In fact, of course, they are killed," Arsen Melik-Shakhnazarov told a press conference.


According to Melik-Shakhnazarov, over 300 Azerbaijani troops were killed and over 1,000 were wounded during the same period.

Nagorno-Karabakh lies within Azerbaijan but is controlled by ethnic Armenians. The conflict in Nagorno-Karabakh began in 1988, when the Armenian-dominated autonomous region sought to secede from the Azerbaijan Soviet Socialist Republic, before proclaiming independence after the collapse of the Soviet Union in 1991. The warring sides agreed to a cessation of hostilities in 1994.

Under these conditions, it appears that the Baku regime has turned to war in an attempt to divert attention from the escalating social crisis in the country by inciting ethnic Azeri sentiment.
The Washington Post cited University of Birmingham researcher Kevork Oskanian as saying that Azerbaijan, “under pressure to 'liberate' the region, has become disillusioned with the deadlocked negotiations, and the recent fall in oil prices has hit Azerbaijan’s economy hard.”

"Thomas de Waal, senior associate at the Carnegie Europe think tank, wrote a piece for the BBC on the fighting, declaring, “This kind of operation would have the additional benefit of distracting the Azerbaijani population from the economic woes caused by falling oil prices.” He added, “[I]f the ceasefire breaks down, there are no peacekeepers, and even if you don’t have a full-scale war there could be low-intensity fighting which completely destroys the peace process.”

This is probably something new for everybody. I can't really remember an another exemple of drone strikes at the modern warfare history.

Question rises. What kind of solution we can find to avoid drone attacks?
