Below is a video from November 2014 regarding the visit of the Turkish SF commander to the positions of the AZ. Army. He was accompanied by Hikmet Mirzoev, the Azeri SF commander who has been missing since the beginning of April. He lead the assaults. He has not been seen in public since April 2nd. Not sure if he's dead or been sacked/imprisoned for his failures.

As for Armenia Minor or Lesser Armenia, I've seen that on many maps. I believe it's from the Roman/Byzantine perspective.

The ones I have seen was not defined south of the real Minor.

I just recently learned that armenians never inhabited baku.. look on those maps and you'll see it doesn't exist. It was under water back then.

Baku: Armenia to halt OSCE MG process by recognizing so-called regime in Karabakh

Baku. Malahat Najafova – APA. Armenia will put an end to the OSCE Minsk Group process by recognizing the so-called regime in the occupied territories of Azerbaijan, Hikmat Hajiyev, spokesman for the Azerbaijani Foreign Ministry, told APA on Tuesday.
He was commenting on Armenia’s allegations that the government is going to recognize the so-called regime in Azerbaijan’s Nagorno-Karabakh region occupied by Armenia.

Hajiyev noted that if the so-called regime is recognized, the Minsk Group will be deprived of the mandate.

“This is an extreme example of insult and arbitrariness against the Minsk Group process, its co-chairs and the international community,” the spokesman said.

Hajiyev urged the international community to give an adequate response to these provocative actions of Armenia.

The Nagorno-Karabakh conflict entered its modern phase when the Armenian SRR made territorial claims against the Azerbaijani SSR in 1988.

A fierce war broke out between Azerbaijan and Armenia over the Nagorno-Karabakh region of Azerbaijan. As a result of the war, Armenian armed forces occupied some 20 percent of Azerbaijani territory which includes Nagorno-Karabakh and seven adjacent districts (Lachin, Kalbajar, Aghdam, Fuzuli, Jabrayil, Gubadli and Zangilan), and over a million Azerbaijanis became refugees and internally displaced people.

The military operations finally came to an end when Azerbaijan and Armenia signed a ceasefire agreement in Bishkek in 1994.

Dealing with the settlement of the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict is the OSCE Minsk Group, which was created after the meeting of the OSCE Ministerial Council in Helsinki on 24 March 1992. The Group’s members include Azerbaijan, Armenia, Russia, the United States, France, Italy, Germany, Turkey, Belarus, Finland and Sweden.

Besides, the OSCE Minsk Group has a co-chairmanship institution, comprised of Russian, US and French co-chairs, which began operating in 1996.

Resolutions 822, 853, 874 and 884 of the UN Security Council, which were passed in short intervals in 1993, and other resolutions adopted by the UN General Assembly, PACE, OSCE, OIC, and other organizations require Armenia to unconditionally withdraw its troops from Nagorno-Karabakh.

HEROIC BATTLE OF THE COMPANYTells company commander, Senior Lieutenant Artyom Nalbandyan

– My company, which carried out combat duty, took the blow of superior enemy forces the first. On the night of April 2 at about 1:00am we received a telephone message about the expected invasion of sabotage-reconnaissance group. At 4am the enemy mobilized his artillery. I saw that they entered the territory between the positions, reached the top of Lala-Ilyag and occupying a favorable position, fired machine guns and rocket-propelled grenades “Mukha” in our direction. They were supported by artillery. Personnel went to the ring defense. Conscript Adam Sahakyan led the battle with courage and skill of an experienced military.

I am delighted with my soldiers! They were excited, their eyes emitted sparks.

Through telephone connection I was told that the aid group of five officers of the military unit is hurrying to us: Lieutenant Colonels Alexan Arakelyan, Onik Grigoryan, Roman Poghosyan, Major Suren Melkumyan and Senior Lieutenant Maxim Grigoryan. We were inspired. Thanks to the clear fire of Sasha Galstyan’s machine gun of “Utyos” type their arrival was secured. However, his life could not be saved…

I wanted to return to the position, but Senior Lieutenant Maxim Grigoryan through communication said that all of my guys of the position died. Today, these guys are on combat duty at another important point.

As for the fighting position N on the other side of the height, the platoon commander, Senior Lieutenant Ashot Shahbazyan through communications reported that all were killed, and they are two to continue to fight. Unfortunately, a few hours later he died and the wounded soldier barely reached the battalion command post.

In my memory, the guys will remain as they were during the battle – bold, persistent, with arms in their hands. They were confident in their abilities and did not retreat.
