Armenia to receive $15 mln rescue vehicles from Japan

YEREVAN. - Armenia will receive a $15 mln rescue vehicles from Japan.

Minister of Emergency Situations, Armen Yeritsyan, told the aforementioned on Monday, speaking at the parliamentary hearings on draft 2017 State Budget.

The vehicles received with the support of Japan will be handed to the Rescue Service departments in the country’s Shirak, Lori and Syunik provinces.

“Or else old trucks are used in regions, which have a capacity of only 2 tons of water. And until it is delivered, sometimes it is already late,” the Minister noted.

YEREVAN. - The Ministry of Emergency Situations of Armenia is holding talks with Russian partners on purchasing snowmobiles and off-roaders.

Minister of Emergency Situations of Armenia, Armen Yeritsyan, told the aforementioned on Monday, speaking at the parliamentary hearings on draft 2017 State Budget.

Armenia has about 190 highland villages. In winter the roads leading there can be closed for 15-20 days. Neither the ambulance nor rescuers can pass. “Obstetricians somehow reach there to deliver babies on the ground. But what if, God forbid, a baby dies? They will all be sued then. They will be told: who allowed you to deliver a baby without relevant medical equipment?” the Minister stated.

Thus, Armenia is holding talks with the Russian side to buy Canadian or Russian snowmobiles and off-roaders. “Perhaps our Russian colleagues will provide us such equipment also in the framework of the support to the Armenian-Russian Humanitarian Center of our Ministry of Emergency Situations,” Yeritsyan noted.

Azerbaijan not only continues to aggravate the situation at the line of contact by periodically violating the ceasefire regime and undertaking subversive attempts, but also resorts to provocations on the information field, the NKR Defense Ministry said in a statement.
The Ministry dismissed the claimes of the Azerbaijani side on the use of 60-mm mine throwers, grenades and large-caliber machine guns by Karabakh forces, describing it as “yet another provocative trick” of the rival.
The front divisions of the NKR Defense Army strictly observe the ceasefire regime and never start the attack.
“By spreading such misinformation, the Azeri side prepares ground for future provocations,” the NKR Defense Ministry said.

Snowmobiles should be the last resort. Snow plows on existing trucks, snow tracks on existing 4x4s will be better for serving the villages. The snowmobiles will be better for military operations/security.

Snowmobiles should be the last resort. Snow plows on existing trucks, snow tracks on existing 4x4s will be better for serving the villages. The snowmobiles will be better for military operations/security.
