Yes be defensive but when something like this occurs we have to do something that will hurt them such as Land losses, massive attack on there Military Installments or Bases etc. We got to get over this tit for tat. We are not showing them we are in power.
I believe that is what Azerbaijan wants Armenia to do. To draw Armenia out of it's defenses and escalate the situation. The Status quo is least favorable for their side. They are the most likely to try and change the status quo. Whether or not we should retaliate by striking back is up for debate, but this is certainly something that should be considered when talking about retaliation.

The balance of power between Armenia and Azerbaijan is not the same as it is with the Israelis and Palestinians where Israel has the upper hand by miles.

If Armenia attacks their military installments or bases as you're saying, they will attack back at our military bases and installments. Does our budget allow us to rebuild everything once their demolished? I don't think so.
They have the same artillery weapons that we do, if not a bit more (2S7 pion, Msta-S).
To do a strike like you're saying there has to be a shift in the balance of power into Armenia's favor in more than one aspect, i.e. not only in long range ballistic missiles.

Agree with you 100% ... Except, coincidentally a day later some unknown nasty group blew up an oil pipeline for an unknown reason. I am not sure if it was in Georgia or Eastern turkey.
It was a small damage that could be fixed in couple days. Maybe it was just a warning shot?

Rumor has it that this nasty group found a way to infuse an elongated detonation charge in 1 inch opening to avoid lowering the pipeline pressure. The charge travelled in the pipeline for miles in between relay stations making it hard to detect their location of origin. Again it is just a rumor. Who knows what goes on.

Well, not doing anything is not a strategy either. We have watched this non strategy since 2008 when this war of attrition intensified, and it culminated with the april war . We need a new strategy imho.

Since 2014, Azerbaijan has forbidden reporting of casualties as policy. The tactic is to create the illusion that no one is being killed on their side. The reason why they can uphold this is because they have total control over their media organs and will jail or exile you for reporting soldier deaths. Take for instance the April War where they announced only ~35 deaths while some opposition guy living in exile in Germany reported 100+ and that's only by the information he could gather (like Razm.info) that is being actively hidden.

Mix this tactic with Armenian transparency on soldier deaths that can't be hidden because Armenia is one big village with a plethora of news outlets and suddenly there's an illusion that we suffer as much, if not more casualties than Azerbaijan. Take for instance that dead Azeri whose body we now have. Azeris initially announced he was MIA and only did so because they realized that they left his body behind so it would look ridiculous to say they suffered no deaths. If they hadn't left the body behind, the illusion would be that Azeris killed 3 of ours and we only just claim that we killed 7 of them. And then imbeciles on Facebook go under Artsrun Hovhannisyan's announcements and ask for proof that we killed this or that number of Azeris as if they understand anything about war.

Things are being done. If they weren't being done, there would have been more April wars by now. Israel has a tiny border with Gaza, all the advantage you can dream of in terms of money, power, technology... yet Palestinians still manage to slip in every now and then. You can't control 100% of a border area as large as Tavush, there's always going to be slip ups. You just have to minimize them and try to retaliate relatively disproportionately to deter future raids.
