I thought we were going to re-build Metsamor and with help of US/Russian experts bring it up to normal safety standards. Given the blockades, it's good for us to have nuclear power.

                Russian Separatism In Azerbaijan?

BAKU. February 10, 2011: Officials in Baku have made no comment on
yesterday's protest in Makhachkala by the community of Hrah-Uba, on
the territory of Azerbaijan. The people are demanding the protection
of their rights as Russian citizens. Several dozen people held a rally
condemning Azerbaijani authorities for persecution. The protesters are
ethnic Lezgins who adopted Russian citizenship several years ago and
who now want to join Russia. Turan's calls to the Azerbaijan Foreign
Ministry press office went unanswered. The resolution of the rally
reads, "Azerbaijan called on the residents to immediately adopt
Azerbaijani citizenship; otherwise they would be deported without any
compensation for their land and other properties, which is wholly
unacceptable. We appeal to the leaders of Russia and Dagestan to
protect the constitutional rights of the residents of the Hrah-Uba
enclave; to stop the deportation of the residents of the enclave and
to unite families, to provide trouble-free crossing of the state
border; and to recognize the Hrah Uba as a Russian territory.'

`Given the situation, instructions have been issued in order to settle
the issues with the villagers of Hrah-Uba and Urian-Uba in the
frameworks of the existing international legal procedures. Several
options have been proposed which will be considered by the Russian and
Azerbaijani sides and will also take into account the views of
residents. The people should accept one of the proposed options.' The
village of Hrah-Uba has a population of around 450 people while
Urian-Uba is home to around 20 people. Both communities are located in
the Khachmaz region of Azerbaijan. Earlier, officials in Azerbaijan
and Russia highlighted the invalidity of the residents' claims. During
the visit of the Russian President Dmitry Medvedev to Azerbaijan on
September 3, 2010, an agreement was signed on the state border issue
as well as an intergovernmental agreement on the rational use of the
protection of water resources of Samur River, which put an end to the
                issues of these villages (Turan).

Never heard any Armenian official talk about a "preventative war".
In fact they have always kept to the line “a solution” without a war.
I think our commanders can smell Azeri oil. Even though it is very unlikely for Armenia to make a defensive attack (mostly due to our peacful nature, international pressure, condemnation and above all giving excuse and justification for oil lobbies to carry out their plans of East-West corridor without mercy using the Turks against us).

If Armenia is ready to go against this or is tired of being cornered and just waiting around on being attacked then a good successful offensive can have fruits beyond our imaginations. If victorious we would secure a bigger footprint in the area, maybe liberate our ancient lands that are still under Azeri territory (we can establishing a common border with Russia and increase our border with Iran, liberate the Lezgins, Talish (sort of speak) and creating big internal problems for Azerbaijan and completely ruin the closing relationship between Turkey and Russia.
No need to sack Baku, she will fall on her own. Then maybe we take their oil. The world doesn’t care who holds it as long as they can get it. Iran would back us on this more than anyone.

                    Anyway just ranting.
