You don't get it too. He's referring to completely wiping out Azerbaijan to stop any threat to Armenia. And to completely wipe out Azerbaijan we may need to fight a very long war in which no Armenian would remain alive probably, thus if there's no one living in Armenia why would we need a country. That's what he means.

We don't need to wipe out anyone. We are not an aggressor state looking to exterminate a people's. If we want to hurt Azerbaijan we need to paralyze them and there are plenty of ways to do it . The Government in Azerbaijan is hanging in by a thread and will not let go of power. Give the civilians arms and they will fight between themselves for 100 years.
