When all fails, be it in life or trenches, humans at their lowest point will need a spiritual focal point (Cross, Bible) to justify one’s desperation. Reason and logic do not always help.

      Not neutrality, wrong word.
It’s political correctedness with ultra selective standards.
Muslim extremists kill a village of Christians and world leaders call for human rights observervence. No investigation, nobody stands up for those poor souls.
But, god forbid if a European in his country protests against crimes committed and forced changes by Muslim emigrants...
He/she is labeled a racist, a crusader etc etc and harassed by too many groups.
You see, chrusades ended in 13th century, but Muslim expansionism And fundamentalism is very alive today, since the times of Muhammad.

yeah agree, but we don't need to mix up everything we love. The army is the institution protecting our state and people. And our state is neutral regarding religion, it's a national state, not a religious state. And the church is an institution protecting our souls (if you believe in their teachings). To have a spiritual focal point at your lowest point you don't need to provide your whole army with religious signs and make priests march like soldiers.

We have some indirectly christian symbols on our Coat of Arms as it is part of our history. That's normal. And many western states like Sweden, Switzerland, UK have even a cross on their flag. So I don't get your point.
State and church are seperated and this new trend to integrate the church and the religion in every aspect of life of our army with priests marching side-by-side with soldiers and soldiers marching with religious banners is completely wrong and against this principle. The armenian church has some privileges according to the constitution but these don't allow the church to infiltrate the army like this. Our regular army is an attribute of statehood, not a group of fedayis or medieval knights (with all due respect to our fedayis and medieval knights).
Btw to march in front of the secular government must also be inacceptable for the church. The katoghikos should bless our army, priests should be integrated in the psychological service of our army and that's all. But today our soldiers have to pray before every meal, they get a cross and a bible and even our parade in 2016 started with an obligatory prayer of the soldiers. In 1994 and 1998 there were only some blessing words of the Katoghikos. So, there are some new trends which are not okay. My relatives in the army told me the same.
I dont see anything wrong in that. I like the idea. and we should be more extremist in our religion. Even a Crusader. Why not?!

If you want to be more extremist in your religion, it's your personal decision. But that decision shouldn't be imposed by an officially secular state on its soldiers. The society in Armenia isn't very religious and many soldiers don't want to do all this but they feel forced because of social pressure. In religious questions our army should be neutral. That's my opinion.

What are you talking? we are not religious? Dude, every single soldier has his own at least ( Bible, picture of Mary & Jesus, or Jesus) or when they have free time they make Crosses on the ground with rocks or build a small Holy site to pray. You have no clue how much do they pray every night while standing in their trenches. Church, Priest and Religion should be next to our Army. Whether you or anyone who thinks like you like it or not. Key of all the battles and victories was because of our religion. If not what are we doing then ? Lets just merge with Turks and Azeries and be part of Muslim Turkic nations. Duh!
