maybe they dont want to show all their cards yet... Atleast they showed SCUD, S300, and Tochka-U, a year ago they didn't even say anything about owning s300, and SCUD there was only one picture of it existing.... we're talking about most secretive military in the area ... baby steps

                    • Re: Nagorno-Karabagh: Military Balance Between Armenia & Azerbaijan

I am quite happy actually. A lot of our weaponry is modernized by ourselves, the efficiency of our army has increased (as well as new uniforms etc.), we possess S-300 and Tochka-U, which we can not afford with our military budget, so thanks to the Russian Federation for supplying this for free or at discount prices (also most of the other weapons we obtained for free or at discount prices).

We finally launched our own UAV program, which will be modernized and improved each year, I think Armenians have proven to be good engineers (ironically Azerbaijanis use Armenian-designed Mikoyan airplanes, even though they ban everything that links to an Armenian). I think our knowledge is not enough to understand the importance of the other small "details", as our locally produced electronic, radar and detection systems.

Also something which I am curious about but probably won't know until a war breaks out, is how far we developed our laser (and electronic beam) technology for military use. I know we possessed this technology, we had a laser canon which could shoot enemy troops blind from a fairly large distance, and there were rumors we could destroy tanks with electronic (or laser) beams. I wonder how they destroyed the UAV as it has no signs of a missile impact, it seems to have just crashed down. The MoD has confirmed it was destroyed with a locally produced weapon...

And as for the SMERCH, Armenians have shown interest in it, or we already possess it, or it will be delivered soon. All in all, I think it is amazing what we have accomplished as a poor land-locked country surrounded with three enemy neighbors (Georgia, Turkey, Azerbaijan) and a semi-friendly one (Iran) who itself is blockaded by the rest of the world.

                      Long live the Armenian Republic!
                      Long live the Armenian-Russian alliance!
