What would be the accuracy against ground targets with Krugs?
I guess the control system must be changed?

Unknown to most people is the fact that most Surface to Air Missile (SAM) systems have a secondary ground to ground capability.
I am not very familiar with the Krug system, but I know that the older S-75 (SA-2) of the Vietnam war era has an anti ground targeting mode called "Zemlya" in Russian. The system can fire accurately against targets of known coordinates (such as a building) for ranges upto 20 km.
Furthermore, the Iranians have modified some of their Chinese made copies of S-75 missiles into ground to ground role with ranges extending several dozens of kilometers.
By the way, the S-75 system is the photo in my avatar.

So, yes, if our Krugs are replaced with S-300s. We can find a few good uses for them. The beauty of the track mouted Krug is its mobility. It can drive on any terrain and launch its missiles (that have a nice big fat juicy warhead) against some key targets. Sort of a Tochka missile of fortune.

any major advantage the M3 has over M2? wikipedia says M2 has shorter range for better performance against aircraft closer to the battery itself.

YEREVAN. - The Russian delegation of defense and security committee of Federal Assembly held a number of meetings in Armenia’s Defense Ministry on Tuesday.

The delegation was received by Minister Seyran Ohanyan and Chief of Staff of the Armenian Armed Forcesz, Colonel-General Yuri Khachaturov, the MOD informed Armenian News-NEWS.am.

The sides discussed the issues related to legal framework of cooperation in the field of defense, issues on military units of Russia’s base in Armenian Gyumri city and others.

Hopefully all these provocations (and future ones such as the possible gay parade in Baku) amount to something and Iran will begin throwing more support behind Armenia.
