That 'support' is so low, that it does not even register as support on an objective measuring stick.

But I also think it is not too late or unwise to exploit the tenuous relationship between Lezghins, Avars, Talysh (especially the Talysh who have close to hostile relations with Baku and are pro-Tehran) and the Aliyev regime to our advantage.

well, they could be good spies, but unless they're armed... they're vulnerable and aint much of a threat to their armed forces (or regime)

Agree. I actually believe they do pass information on to Russia, Armenia, and Iran. I also believe they may be susceptible to desertion and/or refuse to fight when the war resumes-- they could possibly start a civil conflict as well-- even if only on a small-scale.

Russia Increases Military Flights Over Armenia

MOSCOW - Russian fighter jets are conducting an increasing number of
training flights over Armenia, a military spokesman said on Saturday,
sending a clear warning that Russia could intervene at any moment
should violence escalate further in the territorial dispute between
Armenia and Azerbaijan.

The military spokesman, Colonel Igor Gorbul, told the Interfax news
agency that Russian fight jets stationed at a base in Armenia have
conducted about 300 training flights since the beginning of 2012, and
have increased the number of flying hours by more than 20 percent from
last year.

Violence has flared recently along the border of Armenia and
Azerbaijan, the former Soviet republics, which have been at war over
the disputed territory of Nagorno-Karabakh for more than 20 years. At
least eight soldiers - five Azerbaijanis and three Armenians - were
killed in clashes along the border last week.

Russia, along with France, the United States and other countries, has
repeatedly urged a peaceful settlement to the dispute between Armenia
and Azerbaijan. Russia maintains a military base in Armenia and
regularly sells weapons to Armenia.

Colonel Gorbul said Russian fighter pilots were preparing for combat.
`The main emphasis in performing aerobatic elements is made on the
ability to apply them in real-life air combat conditions,' he said.

The Russian foreign ministry last week said it regarded the border
clashes as `unacceptable' and would continue to try to broker a
peaceful settlement.

Azerbaijan, which currently holds a seat on the United Nations
Security Council, said that it was also appealing to the United
Nations for help in hopes that international mediators could help
reach a settlement this year.

More Azeri soldiers “step on mines”

PanARMENIAN.Net - Two officers of the Azerbaijani Armed Forces - Zafir Mammadov and Ilgar Verdiyev stepped on a mine in the Geranboy direction, Trend News reported citing Azerbaijani Defense Ministry. Mammadov is chief of engineering service, while Verdiyev is department commander of the same service of the military unit. Both officers were hospitalized. Verdiyev lost his arm and Mammadov lost his leg.
Increased instances of Azeri ceasefire violation have been reported recently, with Azerbaijani side shelling border villages and conducting acts of sabotage onthe border with Armenia and Artsakh.

Sources say that 21-25 Azerbaijani soldiers were killed in Azeri subversive actions in recent days in Tavush- Ghazakh zone of Armenian-Azerbaijani border.
On June 5 night, an attempt was made by Azerbaijani soldiers to infiltrate one of the positions of Artsakh defense army. Armenian side, however, managed to hinder Azeri attack, with NKR army units pushing Azeri forces back to the original positions.

Azerbaijani authorities try hard to concoct reasons behind the deaths and injuries on its side. In fact, these are saboteurs, killed or wounded by Armenian armed forces who were trying to hinder Azeri subversive acts. Thus, according to Azerbaijani authorities, Azeri soldiers commit mass suicides, get blown up by mine, and die in an accident.

On June 6, Azerbaijani media reported that a soldier, 19, was “blown up by mine.” He was hospitalized, with doctors assessing his state as moderate.
Sometimes, even a concrete slab kills an Azerbaijani soldier. For instance, it was reported that two Azeri servicemen were killed in Agstafa region, with another having been “injured during collapse of concrete slab.”

Emin Guliyev and Orkhan Huseynov died, while Elnur Kechalov is still at hospital. Meanwhile, according to Miacum.am website, 21 Azerbaijani soldiers were killed in Azeri subversive acts in recent days in Tavush- Kazakh zone of Armenian-Azerbaijani border. On June 7, Azerbaijani media reported that another Azeri soldier Cabrayilov Ramil Dilavar drowned in Kur River.
