No, both lands (Azeri&Armenian) would be the first battlefield of a greater war. As Russians said "..maybe WWIII". What do you think would happen if Turkey were joined the war with Azeri side and Russia started to occupy Turkish land? Do you believe US-Israel would sit&atch and allow Moscow invade the only Western ally in the region?

the Us will not go to war for Turkey against Russia. NATO will do nothing because it's Turkey who started the war. And Israel doesn't posses the power to go against the bear. There is a reason why Turkey backed down in 93. And that reason is many times stronger than in 93. It would be suicide to go to war against Armenia.

Turkey backed down because it was given assurances by Russia that they would not allow Armenia to make any military intervention in Nakhchivan.

And I bet similar pressure was put on Azerbaijan so that it would not do anything to provoke the possibility of such an intervention.

Both are factors. Armenia was discouraged by Moscow from taking Nakhichevan, which they are most likely going to do and Turkey agreed to stand down. And yes, Turkey is still fearfull of the Russians and with good reason.

make them sign the treaty, and by doing that

It may or may not have succeded. Armenians forces ran low of fuel and ammo {and soldiers} not to mention Moscow was going to withold supplies for such a venture. Regarding military tactics, we would have lost the neutrality of Iran. Also, the Armenians might have been able to push all the way to Baku but they would have to fight 100's of kilometer east through flatlands which would be at disadvantage. Let's not forget that Armenian did not have an Air Frce with which to attack Azeri positions well inside Azerbaijan. What they should have done is taken Yevlakh which is the staging point for the Azeri military on the front and where th BTC now runs through. Anyway, by the summer both sides were exhausted and even though morale was high, all I state above is why a take over of Azerbaijan never occured.

I know both are factors, but Nakhichevan's statues is guaranteed by Turkey and Russia discouraging Armenia seems to remove any legal reason for Turkey to get Involved.

Yes, that did contribute. Though it is not very well known, Armenian forces did enter about five kilometers into Nakhichevan outside of Sadarak in early 1992 but withdrew after Heidar Alyev, then the unofficial leader/overlord of the Nakhichvan region made agreement with Armenia to stay quiet. After that agreement, the Armenian did not need to waste valuable time and resources toward the region. Armenians continue hold some high groud/hills techinically within Nakhichevan

I believe they still hold a few small positions within what is technically Nakhichevan or at least they did until even years after the combat ended.
