waiting one more year or 10 more years wont help. they will most certainly arrest you at the airport, and you have to pay 1,000,000 dram for every year you didn't serve since 18 years old.
before you left Armenia, did they register you for the army at school? they usually do that at that age, if they didn't register you, there will be questions anyway, because you only have armenian citizenship and you didnt serve. If you went back to armenia and you didn't have armenian citizenship(lets say you have danish citizenship), then you would be fine.
Also, more bad news, you can't give away your armenian citizenship either.

Either way you wont go to army. They don't want a bunch of +27 year olds (you're old ) The question is if you can pay it all in the airport and go, or it will be a dragged process. Check it out with the authorities before you go there, so you know what to expect.

How were u renewing ur passport? If u didnt go to Armenia for 15 years and u have Armenian citizenship?

Guys I heard that for whatever reason some people in Armenia think that Armenians who are Artsakh natives don't serve on the frontlines.

Does anyone have videos of soldiers native to Artsakh serving on the frontline? Or maybe nieuws articles with names of Artsakh natives killed in action?

I also heard the same thing,it probably has to do with sympathy or something the way native Americans are granted to pay tax because of them being massacred by the govt,but there are volunteers that go to frontline I'm sure

No this is not true. It's nonsense all stemming from Ter-Petrosyan comeback attempt in 2008. Because he was the most despised politician in Armenia, he's only chance at coming back was casting the situation in Armenia as Hayastanci v. Karabakhtsi. And saying the Karabakh clan have taken over Armenia and use it to enrich Karabakh while making Armenia suffer. It's the single most treacherous thing anyone can do, tearing apart their own fragile country just to gain power. And the people bought it, and his nonsense and the rumors suddenly became undisputed fact. And of course this was a gift from heaven for the Turks, and they loved fueling it.

A few years ago because of these rumors, people in Armenia somehow thought Karabakh and Stepanakert were comparative to some European captial city. That people in Karabakh all lived good lives, with good jobs, all at the cost of Armenia. In reality the conditions in Stepanakert mirror that of Gyumri or Vanadzor. Outside of stepanakert much worse. Thankfully this mentality has largely died away in the country along with Ter Petrosyans political career. Karabakh is simply a province of Armenia similar to Syunik or Shirak. We have to just deal with the two state nonsense for a few years more for political reasons. As the infrastructure between Karabakh and the rest of the country develops more, and people and ideas become more intermixed, the remains of artificial differences created by Azeris will be erased.

This has been discussed to death on this thread. There's presumably one in September 2016. If there will be another parade before that, only chance is Victory Day (May 9) or September 2015. Both are unlikely to happen given the fact that the big parade is being planned for 2016.

Concerning the wrong idea expressed on this forum about the exemption of military service in NKR.....

- Of course, it is total nonsense. Virtually ALL NKR male citizens do serve in the army, regardless of their parents social positions. Something not really true for Yerevan.....: NKR is a very small society, where everybody knows everybody, and even the minister can rarely afford exemption of his son, since it is regarded as a pride and manhood, to serve.

- Apart from service, there is a large chunk of NKR residents who do serve as contract servicemen, officers, or special units. In this sense, NKR is by far the most militarized society I can remember anywhere I know , not only Armenia. The proportion of the male population serving in the army must be largely above 20% of the entire 20-45 years old male population. (This has to do with multiple factors, from ancient military traditions, soviet era disproportion of military recruitment in all of Artsakh (including the Northern half out of HKO)....

- The main difference is, that NKR citizens serving their duty, do serve in NKR ONLY. This point has much psychological and practical implications, and is deep rooted in soviet times. Back then, usually natives did not had the right to serve in their respective republics...., and today, normally drafted servicemen are forced to serve outside their marz in Armenia ( but exeptions are many, specially for Yerevan good boys, who do serve in Yerevan....).
While a boy from Amasya (Armenian Sibir) does serve in Hadrut (semi desertic climate only 350 m above sea level), 500 Km away from home, with a visit by his family might be every 9 months, his fellow Hadrutzi may serve in Hadrut, with family next door, and a good chance of having a neighbor or a cousin among the commanding officers....
It changes life on practical, every day world.
