Thanks guys for your responses but I think maybe DieHard69 is right . Maybe it's better we upgrade our SU25's or buy more . Investing in better radars and maybe down the track when we got a better budget a new Air Force . We got Air Defense Systems , Fire Power but lack highly in the air. We are a financially poor state but I guess that's were our drones come in ..

Russia is intentionally behind with their none existent UAV programs in order to keep selling conventional fighter aircrafts.
I say we should look into Chinese UAVs, IF we have to, for a back up.

Now, drones are a very good idea. You can build them cheap, save your pilots.
But there is another thing, guided or cruise missiles.

If you are not exporting them, for our own use, there is too much initial investment and keeping up with technology. Won't make it.
See the video in the link provided they are selling then for around 4 million (vs close to $100 million US version) and maybe $50 thousand for the guided missiles? Unless we can modify Russian missiles for the UAV.
I am not too worried about our air defense "offense". We will not be advancing anytime soon. Our focus should be on an impenetrable defense.

Last week a Russian jet got destroyed in Syria with a MANPAD.Today Israel lost an f16, shot down either by a Pantsir system or S200. Also, a Turkish T129 helicopter got shot down by a Igla-2.

Armenia has the newest Igla-S and Verba systems, S300 and Pantsir systems. All of them in a very small area, Karabakh which is comparable to a small district in Syria. We have nothing to worry about.

Airforce is becoming a very costly thing, even Azerbaijan can't afford to loos this much if they used their aircrafts.
