But it hasn't been always like that. It's just that in the current political/social atmosphere, everything has swung to the other 'extreme'... it is somehow true. All these behavioural anomalies may be explained by one word: narcissism. With 'some' of your posts here, I must admit you have been deconstructing beautifully the hard-core feminist ideology.
But again you constantly generalize so much and put all women in the one 'popular' basket... I don't like that.
It's the system (media, pop culture and the supporting laws) that generalizes and puts all women in one 'popular' basket which makes both men and women accept this generalization which is rather apparent on the surface. Suffice it to say that many of those that work in law and the court systems are feminists since a male lawyer uses his wealth/power to be a playboy of sorts whilst the many women in law are fairly well paid and live a rather comfortable life. They profit from the system so it's in their favour to see everyone else fail.

strange no one has pointed out the strong affinities between the feminine and contemporary jewish psyche. otto weininger (himself a jew of course) did a long time ago. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Otto_Weininger

("deconstructing"... yet another jewish concept. further proof this forum is being infiltrated.)

Seriously, what this does effectively is pit one gender against the other which is idiotic / extremely damageable. nothing good can come out of this.

I always enjoy these anecdotal stories of people's lives from the past that never miss a single detail like "during the last 5 days of his life, he spent time picking his nose and playing chess while petting a cat". Meanwhile, it was assumed that he was gay and had several homosexual encounters at the age of 12. If people are really this interested in my life after I pass, they really need to get a life of their own and stop concerning themselves with everyone else. Most likely, 90% of these "facts" are fiction much like what is written today in tabloids.

Make sure to mention that I thought that Weininger was an utterly confused and demented individual.

"Weininger argues that all people are composed of a mixture of the male and the female substance, and attempts to support his view scientifically. The male aspect is active, productive, conscious and moral/logical, while the female aspect is passive, unproductive, unconscious and amoral/alogical."

That's about as contradicting as a statement can get. Passiveness, laziness, uselessness, unconsciousness and amoral/illogical attributes were not given to either man or woman but is rather due to culture and upbringing which in most cultures are found as repulsive characteristics.

I am not here to promote his views but Weininger defines what the male substance is and what the female substance is in an abstract manner. It is mere terminology. He could have said Y and X in place of male and female or A and B. It would have made little difference in his argument for his actual statement is that every person is composed of a mixture of the A and the B substance (which is sort of hard to refute)

Yes, every person is composed of biological matter. However, that doesn't give them what is generally known as characteristics of an individual's personality, work ethic or thought process. Male and Female are biological terms based on gender while Man and Woman and their respective gender roles are created by society, thus the title of this thread.

substance in this case does not necessarily refer to biological matter. A and B are not biological categories. his argument almost reduces to a tautology.
but let's drop this. my main intent in quoting him was sort of humorous.

i guess you do not realize how much your way of thinking as evidenced by the above sentence is shaped by materialistic thought (which can be traced back to the likes of marx, durkheim...). and this is true of a number of people here.
