- harassing
- personal attacks
- obscene

You also may not:
- post images that are too large (max is 500*500px)

- post in UPPER CASE, which is considered yelling
- post messages which insult the Armenians, Armenian culture, traditions, etc
- post racist or other intentionally insensitive material that insults or attacks another culture (including Turks)

The Ankap thread is excluded from the strict rules because that place is more relaxed and you can vent and engage in light insults and humor. Notice it's not a blank ticket, but just a place to vent. If you go into the Ankap thread, you enter at your own risk of being clowned on.
What you PROBABLY SHOULD NOT post...
Do not post information that you will regret putting out in public. This site comes up on Google, is cached, and all of that, so be aware of that as you post. Do not ask the staff to go through and delete things that you regret making available on the web for all to see because we will not do it. Think before you post!

2] Use descriptive subject lines & research your post. This means use the SEARCH.

This reduces the chances of double-posting and it also makes it easier for people to see what they do/don't want to read. Using the search function will identify existing threads on the topic so we do not have multiple threads on the same topic.

3] Keep the focus.

Each forum has a focus on a certain topic. Questions outside the scope of a certain forum will either be moved to the appropriate forum, closed, or simply be deleted. Please post your topic in the most appropriate forum. Users that keep doing this will be warned, then banned.

4] Behave as you would in a public location.

This forum is no different than a public place. Behave yourself and act like a decent human being (i.e. be respectful). If you're unable to do so, you're not welcome here and will be made to leave.

5] Respect the authority of moderators/admins.

Public discussions of moderator/admin actions are not allowed on the forum. It is also prohibited to protest moderator actions in titles, avatars, and signatures. If you don't like something that a moderator did, PM or email the moderator and try your best to resolve the problem or difference in private.

6] Promotion of sites or products is not permitted.

Advertisements are not allowed in this venue. No blatant advertising or solicitations of or for business is prohibited.
This includes, but not limited to, personal resumes and links to products or
services with which the poster is affiliated, whether or not a fee is charged
for the product or service. Spamming, in which a user posts the same message repeatedly, is also prohibited.

7] We retain the right to remove any posts and/or Members for any reason, without prior notice.

- PLEASE READ -

Members are welcome to read posts and though we encourage your active participation in the forum, it is not required. If you do participate by posting, however, we expect that on the whole you contribute something to the forum. This means that the bulk of your posts should not be in "fun" threads (e.g. Ankap, Keep & Kill, This or That, etc.). Further, while occasionally it is appropriate to simply voice your agreement or approval, not all of your posts should be of this variety: "LOL Member213!" "I agree."
If it is evident that a member is simply posting for the sake of posting, they will be removed.

8] These Rules & Guidelines may be amended at any time. (last update September 17, 2009)

If you believe an individual is repeatedly breaking the rules, please report to admin/moderator.

I watch RT everyday, they are the best. I still have to get used to it though after years of indoctrination by the anglo-american/zionist news media, it's kind of strange when you hear people criticizing zionists or western politics on television.

All news sources have bias one way or another, including RT. The best thing to do in my opinion is to watch news sources of varying perspectives, e.g. US news, Euronews, al-jazeera, RT, azeri news, armenian news, etc. and from this for you to make an informed decision.

Indeed, it is important to watch Fox News, CNN, BBC, and read Radio Free Liberty, ArmeniaNow, to understand fully the scale of Western/American propaganda. If this was for our own benefit, I would not mind, but fact is these are largely anti-Armenian programs, as they attack us and our allies.

Even though there is some form of "propaganda" on Russia Today, everyone knows this, and the name is Russia Today, so you know it's from Russia, but Americans prefer to create media like Radio Free Liberty, as if it's an independent news source who "promotes freedom" (American control) over the entire world. It's important to understand this. Also, if the West (Americans) have dozens of news agencies, you still have a biased view if you take the average out of 10 agencies, of which 9 are controlled by the same entity.

Yeah Radio Free Liberty is CIA controlled, and was intended to my knowledge to formant anti-Russian/Soviet sentiment in countries under Soviet rule. If you notice they frequently cover stories regarding opposition and human rights abuses in pro-Russian countries. Basically, they are the main media source for colour revolutions.

Fox News in my opinion is a fascist news organisation controlled by right wing religious nut jobs and neo-cons alike. I don't have enough nerves to watch that.

One site I frequently visit is EurasiaNet, they sometimes have interesting articles regarding post-Soviet countries, though I can't say for sure which side they are biased towards. I believe however it's Russia based.

While sites that promote colour revolutions or are controlled by neo-con will have anti-Armenian positions however news sources such as BBC or Euronews have much less of that.

            True, I agree.

            There are a lot of Armenians working at Russia Today, and they are largely pro-Armenian. I love the cross the reporters wear during their coverage, there are some beautiful and smart Armenian women working amongst them, including this one;

Enjoy the videos and music you love, upload original content, and share it all with friends, family, and the world on YouTube.

            Gayane Chichakyan.

            Karina Melikyan

            Ribert Verdanian

*note, these are just the "on-air" talents, behind the scenes there are many more Armenians involved.

Yes, in Russia, everything of importance is open to Armenians. Something we can not say about countries like America (we all know what kind of imperialistic devils control the media there)

Well many of Russia's elites are Armenians - several Armenian billionaires for example. We need to control Russia like J3wish lobby controls USA.

Re: Exposing ArmeniaNow, biased Western-backed political anti-Armenian media outlets.

Ofcourse Europe, doesn't talk about the banning of all kinds of media in Azerbaijan, or doesn't talk about the destruction of our cultural heritage in Julfa and the other parts of Azerbaijan, doesn't talk about the anti-Armenian propaganda which is currently going on in Azerbaijan, but talks about the pro-Azerbaijani anti-Armenian journalists who were denied entry into Armenia. Just see how much fuzz they create with this, they find this much and much worse than the genocidal policies in Azerbaijan of course. WESTERN HYPOCRACY at it's best!

In essence, Azerbaijan has a free card to do everything they want, but we don't even have the right to defend ourselves against their propaganda, let alone attack it. Imagine what would happen if we destructed dozens of graves of Azerbaijani's in Armenia? Yes, hell would break loose...

                I don't understand Armenians who think Western countries are our friends;
                - do they invest BILLIONS of dollars in our economy?
                - do they sell us cheap weapons, or give it for free?
                - would they ever protect our border?
                - do the Armenians in those respective countries have the ability to join the political, military and economic elite?

Armenia: Karabakh Documentary Project Stirs Diplomatic Incident
                March 14, 2011 - 2:38pm, by Marianna Grigoryan
                Armenia Azerbaijan Culture Nagorno Karabakh
The plot is thickening in the case of a European Union-based documentary crew that was barred from filming in Armenia. Authorities in Yerevan believe the documentary’s executive producer is on “friendly terms with Azerbaijani officials,” and wants to create a program on the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict from a pro-Baku viewpoint. The producer, Andrius Brokas, is vehemently denying the allegation.

After being refused entry, the four-person documentary crew spent about a day at Yerevan’s Zvartnots Airport on March 10-11 before returning home. The incident does not appear likely to stop there, however. Brokas, a Lithuanian national, said he has been in contact with Lithuanian diplomats in Vilnius. Lithuanian Foreign Minister Audronius Ažubalis, who is currently the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe’s chairman in office, is scheduled to be visiting Yerevan on March 17-18. The Armenian decision to bar the documentary crew, comprising a Lithuanian, a Finn, and two Estonian nationals, could be added to the agenda of discussion topics while Ažubalis is in Yerevan.

“We informed our Ministry of Foreign Affairs, so probably the minister knows about it,” Brokas said in a telephone interview March 14.

After initially offering no explanation for the decision to deny entry to the crew, Armenian diplomats hinted that the documentary filmmakers were biased against Armenia. “Irrespective of the reasons of not granting visas to the group, it is obvious that their aim was to damage Armenia’s reputation,” a top official in the Foreign Ministry of Armenia told EurasiaNet.org.

In a statement distributed March 11, a member of the documentary crew, Tiina Madisson, said the filmmakers had intended to interview former Armenian president and current leader of an opposition coalition, Levon Ter-Petrosian. An aide to Ter-Petrosian, Arman Musinian, confirmed that he had been in contact with the crew, but added that “no specific agreement” had been reached.

An Armenian Foreign Ministry source told EurasiaNet.org that the government had obtained information that Brokas is “on friendly terms” with Baku. Various Armenian media outlets, both Armenia-based and serving Diaspora communities around the world, carried reports alleging that Brokas was acting on behalf of Azerbaijan’s Ministry of Culture.

Brokas insisted he has no current connection to Azerbaijani officials. He said that last year he had helped produce a concert, titled Notre Dame de Paris, which was staged June 17-18 in Baku. The concert, he added, was part of an official cultural exchange involving Lithuanian and Azerbaijani governmental agencies. In a statement issued March 12, he said he had been involved in numerous ventures similar to the Baku production, including events staged in Poland, Latvia, Finland and India.

Brokas declined to specify where the financing for the Karabakh documentary project was coming from other than to say EU-based entities were involved. He cited contractual obligations in declining to elaborate on financial details. He added that a British production company, which he would not name, was helping provide archival footage.

In his March 12 statement, Brokas described the Armenian government action as a “clear provocation.” During the March 14 telephone interview, he expressed a sense of befuddlement over the allegation of a pro-Baku bias. He noted that a film in which he had served as director of photography, titled Christina & Christ, was to be screened at the Golden Apricot film festival, which will run in Yerevan from July 10-17.

Commenting on the public relations aspect of the incident, Vladimir Karapetian, a former Foreign Ministry press secretary, and currently the foreign relations coordinator of the opposition Armenian National Congress, said the decision to bar the crew put Yerevan on the defensive. “They [Armenian officials] could have let them [the filmmakers] in, see what they were going to say and then express their own opinion, instead of making so much fuss,” Karapetian said.

Tigran, a simple reason for the fact that many Western, bigger countries disregard Armenia is that we have very little to offer them in terms of resources. Azeris have oil and gas thus are automatically are their "friends". With Russia we get their protection and they get a foothold in the South Caucasus. The average European however is not inherently anti-Armenian, and certainly not pro-Turkish. It's not like Europeans are in love with Azeris or their culture. It's the resources that everybody is after.

Economy is at the heart of what drives the decisions of countries.

Indeed, and this is what we always have to have in our minds. It would be another case if the West was neutral, but they are not. Their organizations and media (like the UNESCO and Radio Free Liberty) are biased and anti-Armenian. I don't care if it's because Azerbaijan has oil, or if it's because they like gay people, I just look at how the situation is now. But, I also look at history and Western countries seem to have the most imperialistic policies in the world, which we should also not forget.

We just have to play the game with them, never trust them, and only have economic relations with them. Our main political/military partner was and will remain the Russian Federation which is the only country where we have the chance to seriously influence the political, military and economic system.

Russia is a natural bulwork against pan-Turkism, western imperialism and Sunni fundamentalism. Basically, Russia is the enemy of all our enemies, which makes it our biggest ally. And it is OUR job to influence Russia's politics, instead of attacking it.

Well our alliance with Russia is a logical one and the best strategic choice given our position and also history in the region. Honestly, we really don't have any other choice if we want to survive. NATO = Turkey, and neutrality is not a choice for us, so Russia for the win!

That being said, remember that Europe is dependent on Russia, most notably in the gas sector, and many of the bigger powers like France and Germany have warmed up with Russia as a result. (German-Russian relations are rather strong). No more is there that cold war divide.

US in my opinion is a different story. They are more of the military big arms that are more forceful and definitely more pro-Turkish. I wouldn't be so haste to equate EU and USA.

I believe our bigger enemy lies in the neo-cons of the US and NATO that greatly support Turkey and Azerbaijan, rather than the average European who doesn't give a sh*t about South Caucasus.

Finally, we mustn't forget that as our military/strategic ties are firmly with Russia, Armenian Government holds close political contacts with EU, and with its guidance is improving a variety of governmental structures and other spheres of our country. And of course the close economic relations are always there.

Armenia takes serious steps to facilitate RA-EU visa regime
                      March 14, 2011 - 19:19 AMT 15:19 GMT
PanARMENIAN.Net - Armenia-EU political dialogue is actively developing, according to Armenian National Security Council (NSC) secretary, the head of Armenia-EU interdepartmental committee.

As Arthur Baghdasaryan stated at EU consulting group meeting in Armenia, “the strengthening of Armenia-EU political dialogue is essential in view of signing the Association Agreement.”

Baghdasaryan further stressed the importance of free trade zone creation, which involves a number of reforms, including elimination of bureaucratic impediments, as well as amendments in the customs and tax system of Armenia.

The NSC secretary dwelled on Armenian police reforms to be implemented in current year and endorsement of the National Human Rights program. Serious steps are undertaken to conclude agreement on visa regime facilitation, Baghdasaryan said, NSC press service reported.
Though in the end, our biggest resource is our strategic location and us not having the resources that Turkey, Azerbaijan can offer will always put us in the dark spot - money is what keeps the world spinning.
