Houthi forces launch first missile towards major Saudi city

SANAA, YEMEN (12:20 P.M.) - For the first time in the Yemeni Conflict, the Houthi forces launched a ballistic missile towards a major Saudi city.

According to the Yemeni Republican Guard's official media wing, the Houthi forces fired a Burkan-1 ballistic missile towards the King 'Abdel-'Aziz Airport in Jeddah on Thursday.

However, the missile was intercepted by the Saudi Air Defense systems some 65km away from the holy city of Mecca, Saudi state media reported on Thursday.

The purpose of this Houthi missile attack was to show Saudi Arabia that they possess the capabilities to strike the Gulf monarchy's major cities if the Saudi Air Force continues to bomb densely populated Yemeni areas.

Syrian rebels 'start Aleppo offensive'

Syrian rebels have announced a big offensive aimed at breaking the government siege of rebel-held east Aleppo.
A UK-based monitoring group said rebels had fired "hundreds" of missiles into western Aleppo, killing at least 15 civilians.
They are also reported to have targeted al-Nayrab military airport to the east.
About 275,000 people have been besieged by pro-government forces since September.
Syria and its ally Russia have recently intensified air strikes on the east.
The attacks are so far coming from rebels outside Aleppo, but it is understood that rebels inside the city will join the offensive.
"All the revolutionary factions, without exception, are participating in the battle," the military spokesman for the Fastaqim faction inside the city said, AP news agency reported.
The UK-based Syrian Observatory for Human Rights (SOHR) said rebels had fired Grad missiles at al-Nayrab.

Turkish donations
In August 2015, Podesta forwards an email to finance director Dennis Cheng from Michael Werz from the Center for American Progress.

Werz alerts them of Turkish fundraisers donating to the campaign on behalf of Turkish president Recep Tayyip Erdoğan.

“Seems Erdogan faction is making substantial investments in U.S. to counter opposition (CHP, Kurds, Gulenists etc.) outreach to policymakers and USG [United States Government],” he says. “The Erdogan crew also tries to make inroads via donations to Democratic candidates, including yours. Two names that you should be aware of are *Mehmet Celebi* and *Ali Cinar*.”
