Forum Rules (Everyone Must Read!!!)

1] What you CAN NOT post.

You agree, through your use of this service, that you will not use this forum to post any material which is:
- abusive
- vulgar
- hateful
- harassing
- personal attacks
- obscene

You also may not:
- post images that are too large (max is 500*500px)
- post any copyrighted material unless the copyright is owned by you or cited properly.
- post in UPPER CASE, which is considered yelling
- post messages which insult the Armenians, Armenian culture, traditions, etc
- post racist or other intentionally insensitive material that insults or attacks another culture (including Turks)

The Ankap thread is excluded from the strict rules because that place is more relaxed and you can vent and engage in light insults and humor. Notice it's not a blank ticket, but just a place to vent. If you go into the Ankap thread, you enter at your own risk of being clowned on.
What you PROBABLY SHOULD NOT post...
Do not post information that you will regret putting out in public. This site comes up on Google, is cached, and all of that, so be aware of that as you post. Do not ask the staff to go through and delete things that you regret making available on the web for all to see because we will not do it. Think before you post!

2] Use descriptive subject lines & research your post. This means use the SEARCH.

This reduces the chances of double-posting and it also makes it easier for people to see what they do/don't want to read. Using the search function will identify existing threads on the topic so we do not have multiple threads on the same topic.

3] Keep the focus.

Each forum has a focus on a certain topic. Questions outside the scope of a certain forum will either be moved to the appropriate forum, closed, or simply be deleted. Please post your topic in the most appropriate forum. Users that keep doing this will be warned, then banned.

4] Behave as you would in a public location.

This forum is no different than a public place. Behave yourself and act like a decent human being (i.e. be respectful). If you're unable to do so, you're not welcome here and will be made to leave.

5] Respect the authority of moderators/admins.

Public discussions of moderator/admin actions are not allowed on the forum. It is also prohibited to protest moderator actions in titles, avatars, and signatures. If you don't like something that a moderator did, PM or email the moderator and try your best to resolve the problem or difference in private.

6] Promotion of sites or products is not permitted.

Advertisements are not allowed in this venue. No blatant advertising or solicitations of or for business is prohibited.
This includes, but not limited to, personal resumes and links to products or
services with which the poster is affiliated, whether or not a fee is charged
for the product or service. Spamming, in which a user posts the same message repeatedly, is also prohibited.

7] We retain the right to remove any posts and/or Members for any reason, without prior notice.

- PLEASE READ -

Members are welcome to read posts and though we encourage your active participation in the forum, it is not required. If you do participate by posting, however, we expect that on the whole you contribute something to the forum. This means that the bulk of your posts should not be in "fun" threads (e.g. Ankap, Keep & Kill, This or That, etc.). Further, while occasionally it is appropriate to simply voice your agreement or approval, not all of your posts should be of this variety: "LOL Member213!" "I agree."
If it is evident that a member is simply posting for the sake of posting, they will be removed.

8] These Rules & Guidelines may be amended at any time. (last update September 17, 2009)

If you believe an individual is repeatedly breaking the rules, please report to admin/moderator.

As for Wikipedia being a liar: The information that I'm giving, which is the eastern bureau of the party was much stronger than the western one, isn’t from Wikipedia. I have read this in several books. To mention a few (Zoravar Antranik by Antranik Zelebian , Armenia: survival of nation by Christopher J. Walker) and some others which I can't remember it is research I have done during many years. This is not an analysis it is a fact I can confirm this fact by looking at the leaders of the Democratic Republic of Armenia. Vast majority of them are from Eastern Armenia. You can also confirm leaders of DRA being from Eastern Armenia from Wikipedia. If Wikipedia isn't good enough for you look at any other site on the internet talking about DRA. If internet isn't reliable for you look at any book talking about leaders of DRA. Look at the names of the prime ministers and council chairmen and their place of birth during that time you will find vast majority are from EASTERN Armenia and your argument ends here. The Western Bureau was in tatters because of the Armenian Genocide.
This is a link to a page where all the prime-ministers, chairman, ministers, etc. of DRA are mentioned with their biography vast majority of them are from Eastern Armenia or Russian Empire. To give some more examples you can check it yourself.

ALL chairmen, prime ministers, Ministers of military affairs Ministers of Interior and ministers of foreign affairs are from eastern Armenia or Russian Empire. So with all due respect I think the analysis you give is wrong. The western Armenians first of all weren’t in power to betray Eastern Armenia.
Bottom line I will repeat again and again. FOR GOD SAKE STOP BLAMING EACH OTHERS EASTERN WESTERN. LET US BE ARMENIAN BY BLAMING WESTERNERS DON'T CARE ABOUT EASTERNERS OR I DONNO WHAT WE ARE DIGGING OUR OWN GRAVE.
    Read my post then!

Hi hrair, good answer and good post thank you for reading my post Thoroughly. if 12 pages of litriture can be sumarized and simplified in 4 sentences of illwritten childish accusation with no argument and logic what so ever than i don't know if the book is worth reading or the reader (you) is misunderstood (to tell the least or trying hard not to offend you). I think an educated historian such as RichardHovhanesian would offer more than what you present. It's a shame to get such a premitive and childish answer nice job.

        No xxxx Sherlock!

Most books are summarized by perhaps a paragraph or two. 4 sentences for 12 pages is proportionate

I prefer to research through libraries, bookstores and talking with people who've experienced events or been closer to them than me.
Some people appear to do research through wiki-paedia.
        Takes allsorts.

That's why the failing Dashnaks signed away Kars and half the Republic in 1920. They didn't give a sh*t.
They knew what they were doing, the turcs knew what they were doing and even offered them safe passage to europe.
They were so blinded by power that they believed the western lies and some believe those western lies still.
I wouldn't put this pass them.....we Armenians have always been our own worst enemy anyways.

I suggest you also watch the other parts of this video series to realise what the Armenian History falsifiers are up to.

Do not take anything at face value.

It was eye opener for me.
Politics is not about the pursuit of morality nor what's right or wrong
Its about self interest at personal and national level often at odds with the above.

The National Academy of the Armenian Republic (Department of Armenology and social sciences)
made a decision (April 7, 2009) and expressed its serious disappointment regarding such
intentional falsifications found in the discussed history book (The Armenian People from
Ancient to Modern Times, chief editor: Richard G. Hovannisian) and emphasized that the
continuous usage of such a textbook is harmful for Armenian students. One must take into
consideration the fact that such publications continue to be distributed in other academic circles.

The Armenian National Academy of Sciences has further asked the authors and the editor of the
two-volume textbook to comprehensively reevaluate the material substance of the textbook so
it can be presented in accordance with the latest scientific findings and achievements of Armenology.

Furthermore, it is recommended that future publications of Armenian History textbooks
should be conducted more carefully and prudentially.

Dashnak "socialism" is actually pretty moderate, even historically. The two traditional and oldest parties (Hunchak and Dashnak) in fact have not united because the Dashnaktsutyun is, according to the Hunchaks, not socialist enough. How nationalism and socialism work together is actually very simple. By "socialism", the Dashnaks refer to their fiscal policy mainly. Basically, the Nordic mixed economy model is what Dashnaktsutyun's ideology calls for more or less. Limited state intervention into the economy, higher minimum wage etc. but with the presence of a market economy. Kinda like the social democracies found all over Europe too. I would characterise them as centre-left in terms of fiscal policies.

For religion, Dashnaktsutyun has relied on the church to unite Armenians in the Diaspora. When Dashnaks established communities, they would build a church and a community centre around it. Basically, from what I have noticed, the church for them is a point of unison. They don't shove religion down people's throats, true. But they recognise the church's importance. Catholicos Aram I himself is a de-facto Dashnak And what you espouse, that part of our nationalism should be our faith in the Apostolic Church, is in 100% agreement with Catholicos Aram I (who IMO, is a far superior leader than Karekin II). There are very religious Dashnaks and there are atheist Dashnaks.

How can you claim Aram is a better leader than Garegin II? The same Aram who took at cheap shot at Armenia's government during the festivities associated with the 20th anniversary of Armenia's 2nd Republic. He feel in with the same crowd that has bought into the Western funded anti-Armenian drivel.
For the first time in more than 600 years, Armenia is free and independent, and we are therefore obligated
to place our national interests ahead of our personal gains or aspirations.
