Head of the RA NA Standing Committee on Foreign Relations Armen Ashotyan stated that there is no issue on the agenda of Yerevan on granting the Russian language an official status in the country, "Interfax" reports.
"In our agenda there is not and is not supposed a question of giving the Russian language the status of an official, consolidating in the constitution," he said.
According to him, the meeting with State Duma Speaker Vyacheslav Volodin was very open, "in the format of partner discussions."
"We consider the Russian language as a language of universal significance, a key to the heritage of Russian civilization," Ashotyan said.
