Yes, I thought of this long and hard. In forethoughy there should have been a dismantling programme. For example, if Armenia mad shoes for all the states, they should have continued to, and each state sets out a realistic cost for what it produced. In this sense, I feel Armenia was raped.

The system was designed to basically BS and make useless things so people can work. Furthermore, Armenia has been surrounded by US satelites which make it hard for Armenia to continue its trade with Russia and the rest of the CIS, we are not on the US's Good Guy list.

Well Karabagh war was probably instigated by Russia, very likely. However, it is America now pressuring Armenia to give in to these "Fruit" revolutions.

Armenia needs help, and I fear, that the only way to get better is to give up and betray the Russians after all they have done for some American money. I hate it, but it seems like a very likely choice.

Pyunik... Do you not think the government could utilise these buildings, perhaps heat them and use them for growing food etc???
We have a system here where if someone does not work, and they are fit, they work in the community. Help out with helping to grow food and keep the towns maintained..

why are you growing food in buildings? what are you growing? there is plenty of arable land. it would be a lot smarter to use the heating and rebuilding money for more tractors, equipment...

In honesty I think the Russian -government that took with it the work that Armenia used to carry out- should be made to compensate more than they do, or have. They have left Armenia with nothing but empty buildings.

That is the beauty... when these factories were virtually given to the builders, as the Armenian ones would be, nobody saw the potential. the government sold them cheap to save money having to develop them... the only real cost was materials and labour. It could be done for next to nothing if it was for the people. Remember, this was capitalism at its finest. If it was for social good it would be really cheap.

russia didnt leave anybody physically. if you think there were russians running off with factory equipment you are mad. it was a breakdown of the economic system. The government couldnt possibly keep those factories running without incurring huge losses and they are already strapped for money. so untill they get privatized they stay like that. and privatization has been going pretty good despite some corruption. Factories are finally turning profits and increasing jobs.

Some plants need extra heat that could only be provided if the plantation is inside a structure (home, tents, anything)....but those are for exotic veggis/fruits....And not worth growing in the western countries.

If we grow , say a banana, in London, it would cost a thousands times more then if it's grown somewhere in Africa....
