While I was teaching my self Armenian history, I remember reading after or during the Seljuk's attack, thousands of Armenians moved toward Cilicia-Armenia Minor and intermarriages between the Armenians and European noble families were widespread. I assume (and this is an assumption) that would be the way they ended being within the ranks of the rulers. And few other stories of intermarriages even before this one.
If this is true? Then there is not such a thing called "pure Armenian" or "100% Armenian blood". If that is true, then being an Armenian must have nothing to do with gene purity as few of you already said.
