Armenia, along with all of the other former soviet countries are second world.

I have heard nothing but great things from anyone who has gone there this past summer, all of whom wish they can go back.

ddd is right. They're "industrial nations" - meaning that they are neither completely subsistance farmers nor completely academic/intellectuals. The economy is based on service jobs. I think most of the world falls into this category. I think we should be proud of Armenians for keeping it this way in light of all the catastrophes they have had to go through in the last 20 years. Someone correct me if I'm wrong.

And what I meant by "4th World" is a stateless people that struggle daily to survive. Assyrians and Kurds will never have a Republic unless they launch major offensives against current nations (Turkey, Iraq, etc.). This doesn't necessarily mean that they are "poorer" than 3rd world countries.

No Assyrians and kurds are not poorer, but they are stateless and for the Assyrians, are in danger of assimliation, which means that their population will be even lower than the current 2 million in the coming decades = will never have a nation.

It is an industrialized nation, which had some bad luck in the late 80s and early 90s, earthquake, war, closed borders, etc.

What about the 70 years of communism? Isn't that the real catastrophe from which most of the current problems spring? If Armenia had been part of 'the West' all that time, she would probably be a freer and more prosperous country now (although admittedly with all the problems of 'mtv culture' etc, but they're coming anyway!)
