Forum Rules (Everyone Must Read!!!)

1] What you CAN NOT post.

You agree, through your use of this service, that you will not use this forum to post any material which is:
- abusive
- vulgar
- hateful
- harassing
- personal attacks
- obscene

You also may not:
- post images that are too large (max is 500*500px)
- post any copyrighted material unless the copyright is owned by you or cited properly.
- post in UPPER CASE, which is considered yelling
- post messages which insult the Armenians, Armenian culture, traditions, etc
- post racist or other intentionally insensitive material that insults or attacks another culture (including Turks)

The Ankap thread is excluded from the strict rules because that place is more relaxed and you can vent and engage in light insults and humor. Notice it's not a blank ticket, but just a place to vent. If you go into the Ankap thread, you enter at your own risk of being clowned on.
What you PROBABLY SHOULD NOT post...
Do not post information that you will regret putting out in public. This site comes up on Google, is cached, and all of that, so be aware of that as you post. Do not ask the staff to go through and delete things that you regret making available on the web for all to see because we will not do it. Think before you post!

2] Use descriptive subject lines & research your post. This means use the SEARCH.

This reduces the chances of double-posting and it also makes it easier for people to see what they do/don't want to read. Using the search function will identify existing threads on the topic so we do not have multiple threads on the same topic.

3] Keep the focus.

Each forum has a focus on a certain topic. Questions outside the scope of a certain forum will either be moved to the appropriate forum, closed, or simply be deleted. Please post your topic in the most appropriate forum. Users that keep doing this will be warned, then banned.

4] Behave as you would in a public location.

This forum is no different than a public place. Behave yourself and act like a decent human being (i.e. be respectful). If you're unable to do so, you're not welcome here and will be made to leave.

5] Respect the authority of moderators/admins.

Public discussions of moderator/admin actions are not allowed on the forum. It is also prohibited to protest moderator actions in titles, avatars, and signatures. If you don't like something that a moderator did, PM or email the moderator and try your best to resolve the problem or difference in private.

6] Promotion of sites or products is not permitted.

Advertisements are not allowed in this venue. No blatant advertising or solicitations of or for business is prohibited.
This includes, but not limited to, personal resumes and links to products or
services with which the poster is affiliated, whether or not a fee is charged
for the product or service. Spamming, in which a user posts the same message repeatedly, is also prohibited.

7] We retain the right to remove any posts and/or Members for any reason, without prior notice.

- PLEASE READ -

Members are welcome to read posts and though we encourage your active participation in the forum, it is not required. If you do participate by posting, however, we expect that on the whole you contribute something to the forum. This means that the bulk of your posts should not be in "fun" threads (e.g. Ankap, Keep & Kill, This or That, etc.). Further, while occasionally it is appropriate to simply voice your agreement or approval, not all of your posts should be of this variety: "LOL Member213!" "I agree."
If it is evident that a member is simply posting for the sake of posting, they will be removed.

8] These Rules & Guidelines may be amended at any time. (last update September 17, 2009)

If you believe an individual is repeatedly breaking the rules, please report to admin/moderator.

Re: Armenian govt hands over Metsamor power plant to the turk

See this guy in the video says the same thing Hellektor and I and others in here at numerous times are stressing:

Turkey is our enemy and they are very cunning. We Armenians are very forgetful about our past and how horrific turkey was towards us by annihilating in total our nation and with it we have lost the majority (90%) of our lands. We cannot simply ask turkey to be part of our Metsamor Nuclear plant as turkey may aid us monetarily. We are simply looking into mega trouble by forgetting our horrific past committed by our number one enemy the turks and simply handing over our nuclear power plant. We can seek for instance our allies Russia or France to collaborate with us with our nuclear plants. Our government is being utterly naiive and forgetful in handing over such a huge armament to turkey and putting their trust in turkey. Just in the immediate past turkey killed Hrant Dink, turkey claims that we killed them (how is that possible when they took over all of Western Armenia yet the descendant survivors from Western Armenia are scattered all over the world)? Yet they are all living in our lands. Turkey further educates in their schools to our children that we killed them and not the other way around. turkey is definitely a nation to be frightened from and not to be trusted but approach her with knowledge of her cunning diplomacy and that they are against Armenia and how turkey has blockaded Armenia for the sake of azeris and more. These are all vital reasons of turkey being our enemy.

Therefore our government's elite must remember and be advised who turkey is? In our schools we must teach our children how to be diplomatically knowledgeable.

Bottom line turkey is so near to us and we must be alarmed by turkey and weigh all the consequences before we approach to her and hand over our nuclear power plant. The speaker further said that opening the borders with turkey is not suggestible. He certainly doesn't feel that is a good thing for Armenia!!!!!!

The speaker further said that turkey wants diplomatically to adhere to the desires of the EU and the UN by opening the borders with Armenia to make herself look good so that they can get into the European Union. Something that they always wanted as they have a great deal to gain monetarily/financially from Europe. That is why turkey went into war in Europe in the past; but now their dreams of getting in the EU is pretty much coming through. Bottom line, that's why turkey wishes to open their borders with Armenia; but apart from gaining a little bit from turkey ourselves, we will lose a GREAT deal when we are dealing with an enemey that in reality they still didn't put their guns down and they NEVER will!!!!!

But Anoush turkey could only get into the EU if they had excellent human rights...so you can be sure when they have things like 'denying turkishness' they will never into the EU. Right now to the EU people Turkey is poor, crime ridden cesspool and no EU nation wants anything to do with it*, and for good reason...if Turkey joined in its current state it would destroy the European Union.

Or maybe the powers that be are trying to recreate the Roman Empire, and Turkey IS part of the plan.

Add Greece and Denmark to that list.

But here is another reason to dislike the Turkey lover Obama:

Obama’s plea to EU on Turkey carries risks

                    – Paul Taylor is a Reuters columnist. The opinions expressed are his own –

Basking in adulation across Europe, U.S. President Barack Obama chose to expend some of his political capital to urge the European Union to open its doors to Turkey.

This public reaffirmation of long-standing U.S. policy fits in with Obama’s attempt to restore the United States’ standing in the Muslim world, using Turkey as a platform for his first state visit to a Muslim country. It also helps rebuild strategic ties with Ankara that sank to a low ebb under George W. Bush, when Turkey refused to allow U.S. forces to use its territory and airspace to invade Iraq.

And it contributed to convincing Turkish leaders at the weekend to drop their opposition to appointing the Danish prime minister as the new head of NATO.

But it risks raising unrealistic expectations that may cause deeper disenchantment between Turks and Europeans if the EU accession negotiations remain in a slow lane to nowhere.

Obama’s call drew an instant brush-off from French President Nicolas Sarkozy and German Chancellor Angela Merkel. Sarkozy said it was up to EU members to decide who joins and that “the immense majority” of EU states opposed full Turkish membership. Merkel said there were obviously “differences of opinion.”

                    SECOND THOUGHTS

Although EU countries agreed unanimously in 2004 to start talks with Ankara with the goal of membership, some have since had second thoughts, due to hostile public opinion. France and Austria have made eventual accession subject to a referendum in their countries, raising the bar.

The talks have been hobbled by the Cyprus dispute, which led to the freezing of 8 of the 35 negotiating chapters, and by Sarkozy’s refusal to permit negotiation on policy areas that assume Turkish membership, putting another 5 off limits.

The main reason Obama cited for the EU to embrace Turkey — building ties with Muslims — is not the strongest selling point in Europe. Turkey’s qualifications include being a secular, democratic state with a vibrant market economy, a longstanding member of NATO and the Council of Europe and a strategically positioned energy hub.

His argument that Turkey has to be anchored firmly in Europe implies that it might otherwise drift off into Middle Eastern violence and religious intolerance, hardly a mark of confidence.

Turkey deserves EU membership if it meets the same criteria as all other candidates. These involve freedom of expression and the rule of law, as well as the capacity to adopt and implement more than 80,000 pages of European laws and regulations.

They require fundamental changes in the state established by Kemal Ataturk in 1923 that face resistance from nationalist elites in the army, the judiciary and the bureaucracy.

But Obama is right to warn Europeans they would do lasting harm if they are perceived to discriminate against Turkey because it is a Muslim country.

Turkey is not part of the Muslim world, Iran, Syria and most nations of the Muslim world hate Turkey because it supports Israel*...the only thing they share is the Muslim faith. What a retarded idea Obama has.

*But Israel is turning against Turkey
