Re: Our Identity
Hello friends
I have been trying to catch up with this thread, I generally agree with the sentiments expressed here. Tshpaxtapar Hayeroun metch shad odaramolutun ga.
One area that I feel has been missed is music/songs which I find both sad and pathetic.
I have heard “Armenian” songs with total Arabic music, instruments, culture, style the lot, only Armenian words. Similarly Greek variation of the above.
The most distressing I find when Hayasdantsi singers singing in English. For Christ sake WHY? I have to say for somebody who has lived in England for over forty years foreigners singing in English sounds very weird. Only ABBA could get away with it. If they are trying to get into the English speaking world music industry forget it. The place is so overcrowded and competitive it’s unbelievable.
Instead why don’t the try to be a big fish in a small pond than try to be a small fish in a big pond.
