- hateful
- harassing
- personal attacks
- obscene

You also may not:
- post images that are too large (max is 500*500px)
- post any copyrighted material unless the copyright is owned by you or cited properly.
- post in UPPER CASE, which is considered yelling
- post messages which insult the Armenians, Armenian culture, traditions, etc
- post racist or other intentionally insensitive material that insults or attacks another culture (including Turks)

The Ankap thread is excluded from the strict rules because that place is more relaxed and you can vent and engage in light insults and humor. Notice it's not a blank ticket, but just a place to vent. If you go into the Ankap thread, you enter at your own risk of being clowned on.
What you PROBABLY SHOULD NOT post...
Do not post information that you will regret putting out in public. This site comes up on Google, is cached, and all of that, so be aware of that as you post. Do not ask the staff to go through and delete things that you regret making available on the web for all to see because we will not do it. Think before you post!

2] Use descriptive subject lines & research your post. This means use the SEARCH.

This reduces the chances of double-posting and it also makes it easier for people to see what they do/don't want to read. Using the search function will identify existing threads on the topic so we do not have multiple threads on the same topic.

3] Keep the focus.

Each forum has a focus on a certain topic. Questions outside the scope of a certain forum will either be moved to the appropriate forum, closed, or simply be deleted. Please post your topic in the most appropriate forum. Users that keep doing this will be warned, then banned.

4] Behave as you would in a public location.

This forum is no different than a public place. Behave yourself and act like a decent human being (i.e. be respectful). If you're unable to do so, you're not welcome here and will be made to leave.

5] Respect the authority of moderators/admins.

Public discussions of moderator/admin actions are not allowed on the forum. It is also prohibited to protest moderator actions in titles, avatars, and signatures. If you don't like something that a moderator did, PM or email the moderator and try your best to resolve the problem or difference in private.

6] Promotion of sites or products is not permitted.

Advertisements are not allowed in this venue. No blatant advertising or solicitations of or for business is prohibited.
This includes, but not limited to, personal resumes and links to products or
services with which the poster is affiliated, whether or not a fee is charged
for the product or service. Spamming, in which a user posts the same message repeatedly, is also prohibited.

7] We retain the right to remove any posts and/or Members for any reason, without prior notice.

- PLEASE READ -

Members are welcome to read posts and though we encourage your active participation in the forum, it is not required. If you do participate by posting, however, we expect that on the whole you contribute something to the forum. This means that the bulk of your posts should not be in "fun" threads (e.g. Ankap, Keep & Kill, This or That, etc.). Further, while occasionally it is appropriate to simply voice your agreement or approval, not all of your posts should be of this variety: "LOL Member213!" "I agree."
If it is evident that a member is simply posting for the sake of posting, they will be removed.

8] These Rules & Guidelines may be amended at any time. (last update September 17, 2009)

The program does look promising, but I doubt Armenia has the resources to fund such a program. I also doubt that officials would allocate the funds required. Our defense spending is as high as it can pretty much get in peacetime, plus corruption.

I like this guy alot. He is not the "sky-is-falling" depopulation conspiracy theorist who thinks Serzh is allowing people to leave so that there wont be popular opposition.

He focuses on the positive side of things, while dazzling it with reality and the negative stuff. Its time for Armenians to get real, and stop acting like the population is less than 2 million. Because its not, but it will be if the demographic issues worsen.

June, July, and August estimates put the population at 3,060,000, not including Artsakh. If we do not change, it will become a crisis, but he is right when he says that it is not and the rate of people leaving the country is stable, although negative.

These issues cannot be solved over night and definitely cannot be solved by causing political unrest in the country. We need programs to encourage the growth of birth rates, financial reforms, and government support for the poor. If this is not addressed immediately, the situation will worsen. Fortunately, there are signs of it being addressed, and the government is allocating funds, although small, in order to do more research on the issue.

Armenia is definitely better off than Georgia and Moldova, and we saw improvement in population growth in 2013, although minuscule. It is a sign.

Its becoming harder and harder to find an accurate population number. One that isnt sensationalist, and used for fear mongering. I want numbers, real numbers, not random guesses made to scare people. If it has to be conjecture, than fine.

Hetq.am users lol: What the hell is this guy on about?

Diasporan and Hayastancis have lost so much trust in the government, that they now refuse to believe in a single statistic given to them. This is why Armenians are leaving, because they can't trust each other for the simplest things. Armenians in Armenia, don't even know how many of them are in the country. Its like a bunch of headless chickens in a cage.

Population Concerns: 2014 growth rate slightly up over previous two years

National Statistical Service Census and Demography Department head Karine Kuyumjyan told reporters on Wednesday that in the first quarter of 2014 more children were born in Armenia than during the same period of the last two years.

Growth of 0.6 percent was recorded compared with the first quarter of 2012, and 3.2 percent – compared with the first half of 2013, Kuyumjyan mentioned adding that normally more births are recorded during autumn months, which gives ground to predict birthrate growth for the whole year.

Armenia has recorded birthrate decrease since independence, more in the 1990s when during 10 years the birthrate decreased 2.5 times, in 2001 recording 32,000 births compared to 81,000 of 1986. The state’s attempts at solving the problem brought positive results in the beginning of 2000s showing little annual growth. But the growth tapered off over the past few years.
That index in Armenia today is 1.6, which means that the population practically does not reproduce.

“We were able to overcome the crisis because throughout the whole independence period we had natural demographic growth even in the case of negative balance of migration, but the population gets old, and the birthrate does not grow,” the demographer mentioned.

Also according to Kuyumjyan’s data, because of the imperfection of statistics for many years data about migrants was incorrect in Armenia, which became known only as a result of 2001 and 2011 census. During those years respectively 600,000 and 250,000 fewer migrants were recorded, thus the UN advised Armenia using special methodology for adjusting the numbers.

“In 2009-2012 9.5 percent of the Armenian population was involved in outgoing and incoming flows and 70 percent of it – in the outgoing, specifically, 65 percent to Russia. After correcting those numbers 115,000 people were qualified as migrants,” Kuyumjyan mentioned.

And what the hell is up with Hetq.am? It looks like 90% of the comments on most articles, sometimes including the article, is just a f**** anti-government circlejerk.

27, 338 births registered in Armenia in January-August

27,338 births were recorded in Armenia in January-August 2014, of which 14,657 were in Yerevan. The birth rate increased by 920 compared with the same period of last year, the Armenian Health Ministry reports.

4,179 babies were born in Armenia in August, 2,282 of them in Yerevan. The provinces of Shirak, Lori, Tavush and Kotayk recorded the highest birth rate.
        More babies!

Here is a cool statistic: 549 babies were born in Yerevan from 19-25 September.

So, we can basically assume that the 4 thousand babies a month will continue.

        Babies born by December: 47,000

People dead by December: 27,000 (That amount of annual deaths has been constant for a while now)

        20,000 population increase excluding migrants.

The average amount of Armenians leaving the country, and not coming back the same year: 32,000-46,000. (Although very foggy, and almost based off arrival-departure numbers which is the..well not good enough Id said)

So, based off that, Armenia would lose around 12-26 thousand people. Although, Armenia for some reason officially gained a 6-7 thousand increase in population in 2013. I doubt it was Syrian Armenians, because Im sure most wouldn't be registered yet and the estimated amount in Armenia is 3000. (We won't expect that to increase, considering alot of the fighting isn't centered around Armenian populations alot. Specifically in Aleppo. And including the fact that Syria is locked down, so Assad can enforce conscription laws)

So, where the hell did those people come from?

And I think I finally understand what that UN population analyst was talking about when he said the rate was stable. (Compared to 2001-2010, it GREATLY decreased)

hope more boys than girls......anybody know the percentage? If we could only have kids like our enemy (10 kids that is almost a platoon per family, they reproduce like feeking bunny rabbits that they are) Fck me.

This is why every Armenian is a Marine Recon and fights with strong brotherhood.......this is why we still exist.
however we will never stop fcking each other in times of peace, never understood this.

Here is a chart I decided to make based off "official" data: I doubt its super accurate though. (Correction: 3,160,000)This is just conjecture...

So does someone also want to explain to me why the hell there are so many Armenians claiming the population is less than 2 million? I still do not understand where they get those numbers from.

Im tired of the opposition and Het-tards exaggerating their asses off when talking about issues.

Eh, Idk about the percentage. All I care about is that we start to experience a more growth. Whether it be boys or girls, we need more people to solve this emigration issue.

Also notice, that our neighbor, Georgia, has a population decline/growth that is all over the place.

Armenia's population growth rate is at officially 0.2% in 2013/2014. The question is, will we be able to maintain it, and have it grow????

Actually, come to think of it, I think we might be able to maintain it, considering this trend *officially* started in 2012. It has been out of the negatives for 2 years now. It looks like, it could grow by the end of 2014. (Again, this is purely conjecture. Lets just pray we see some improvements somewhere.

Unfortunately, our neighbor, Georgia, dipped into the negatives in 2013.

One of the funniest opposition videos I have ever seen

Blame the President and "false" 2008 elections for the emigration crisis and not unemployment and the Great Recession.

No different than when neo cons in the US blame Obama for immense immigration.

This video screams anti government propaganda, I cant take the opposition, especially Raffi who likes to appear on Civilnet, seriously anymore. Give people real reasons to want change, dont just play the blame game.

As opposed to your display of pro-government circlejerk?

Armenia is a country run by criminals for criminals. Its president is a criminal, its prime minister is a criminal, the leader of its biggest opposition party is a criminal. Every asset is either owned by criminals or has been sold to Russia or China by those criminals. And you think turning women into babymaking machines is the answer! Bullets through the heads of those first three criminals would be the start of an answer.

I note the part of my post you completely ignored. You are a snivelling coward. Safe in Glendale you talk talk talk.
Meanwhile almost the entire population of Armenia heads off into eventual oblivion, and, it seems, doesn't really care that this is where it is going. They wear their uniforms of conformist apathy with pride, and anyone who dares to not wear that clothing must obviously be up to no good.

Transparency International Corruption Perception Index 2014- Dec 3rd

TI just released the most recent ranking of global corruption in 175 countries
Transparency International is the global civil society organisation leading the fight against corruption.

Armenia improved its score (37/100), but its ranking (94th) remained unchanged because of improvement in countries around it
Armenia is ranked 2nd best in the former USSR, ahead of molodva (103rd) and behind Georgia (52nd)
Here's Armenia's progression over the last four years

                      2014: Score 37 Ranking 94th
