The word Armo doesn't bother me if it's used sparringly and at moments where it can punctuate a joke or idea. Such as me jokingly entering my name as "ARMO PIMP" at the local bowling ally ( ) or calling my cousin a "silly armo" after he does something incredibly stupid. However, that's different then introducing yourself to someone else with "what's up my armo" or reffering to your Armenian 101 class as "Armo Class"

Like I said, like all tings, it's all about context. I remmeber, I got into a car accident (a minor one) with this Armenian chick, and as soon as we got out to exchange insurence information she was like "Are you Armo?" and I was all taken off guard.. that's generally not the first thing you should say when meeting another Armenian for the first time.

I've been where you are Hayg, believe me I have been... and today I can honestly tell you I'd die for these same people three or four years ago I hated. In no way do you have anymore reason to hate "stancis" than I do, and I'm over it... my advice to you, look beyond your neighbor hood.

Hayg, if it was not for Stanci there would never be a mordern day republic of Armenia. Stop trying to cannabalize yourselves. Start becoming independent thinkers instead of buying into your parents stereotypes of other Armenian. Honestly, think about it for a second, how stupid is it to come to Armenain forum and complain about other sects of the Diaspora? Please explain the logic behind this?

Armenians need to realize that they can only reach out to their roots by interacting with other sects of the Diaspora. Most of the lingusitic and cultural origins of Armenians are scattered among various sects of the Diaspora. Hell, we need to start reaching out to the Muslim Armenians (Hemshen) in Turkey. Their lingustic connection with ancient Armenia is stronger then any other sect of the diaspora. By interacting with one another we can start patching the holes in our culture, language, and history.

What the Armenian people tend to forget sometimes is that we AREthe Armenian people. We can create things that unify us around the world. There's a lack of holidays and traditions... why don't we invent them. Someone told me they wouldn't count cause they're not "real Armenian traditions"...why? cause they weren't made up hundreds of years ago? We should establish events, holidays, etc, that Armenians all around the world would take part in to strengthen us rather than let us slowly drift apart from one another. The thing is "Armenian" can't be just a genetic thing... it's got to be something seperate and unique. I don't know where I'm going with this.. I'm tired and inspired, never a good combination. Everything's getting really blurry now... your screen name is starting to look like "vagasil"... *shivers* now that's bad...
