did you quit or do you just smoke something else? Davidoff are my favorite, and although i only smoke about 4 on a regular weekday i still cant manage to quit.

In my day...Phillip Morris Commanders (a real man's cigarette )....now I only smoke OPs (other peoples! ...true) ...but yeah when I've been to Turkey (3 times) I always like to sample some cigs (like anywhere I go) - whether I'm normally smoking or not (same with wine, beer, chocolate, food in general and so on and so forth [I'll take the 5th on anything further...])...but yeah - some Turkish smokes are Ok - but they must export their best cigs for Camel - most are really pretty vile and not well made.

On my first visit to Turkey I took along 2 cartons of Marlboros - more for gifts/bribes then any real intent on smoking any significant portion. At the time the locals went all ga ga over American (tax stamped) cigs. Yeah they had Marlboros of their own - but what would they (sometimes) do...save the cigs I gave them and put their Turkish versions in the American packs! Funny as all - but understandable (for full and lasting status value) I guess. Anyway the smokes were always appreciated and managed to make us some friends at the very least. Yeah that first 2-3 week visit was awesome (as have all my trips to Turkey been - in at least some respect) - yeah drank Raki every day and never once bought any myself....always the Turks trying to be hospitable (like in the market/store or just at the hotel/around) etc These last few years though American cigs were nothing special - I don't think...as I pretty much didn't pay attention or smoke at all except for on the last day when we hung out in Ankara and finished off the port I had brought (the last bottle of a full mixed case I brought along!!!! ...my usual anywhere I go! ...yeah true...)

I went cold turkey. And surprisingly, it worked.
