No, I'm not kidding. I don't care what anybody does. You are bound by the rules of this forum under any and all circumstances. Let that be perfectly clear. This applies to everyone. This poster has been dealt with and future posters like him will continue to be dealt with.

louseyourname - I respect that you have done a good job as a moderator on this forum - however I have to object again to my being given a warning for deservedly calling that pig a pig. As you are not Armenian you do not feel the insult nor do you feel or understand the depth of our pain. About the worst thing one can say or do is to insult and defame our families while claiming friendship and openess but likewise claiming that Armenians (as a people) are intolerant, hateful and narrowminded and then blaming Armenians for the ills that befell them. This is why I reacted such as I did to Rookiedenier who began by posting his seemingly honest desire to come here and learn when in fact his mind was quite made up and he was full of accusations and untruths concerning Armenians. You cannot understand how great an insult this is to us. I could kill such a person without compunction as they represent the worst of filth IMO. So I can not be expected to be civil. Armenians would understand this. turdyfruit denier is likewise scum - though perhaps more inocuous and just idiotic. Still when he comes with grave insults and afronts - such as wishing more genocide upon us and such - and then plays at being friendly - interested in our personal details and such - well that is going quite too far. I care not if he is banned or not - but if he remains here and posts the same garbage I will react to him as he deserves. Likewise to others who insult us in this way. I am all for diologue and discussions of issues - I am all for understanding from another's perspective - but they have come into our house and are attacking our families - (those who act thus) - they deserve no respect and will be given none.

Why does every Armenian name end with "AN" or "YAN" or something like that? Does it mean anything special? Thanks.

clearification is needed here - it never ends in "an" that may seem this way since it sounds like it does...

For ~3,000 years of civilization and bearing these last names Armenian last names have always end with the following:
                    - ian/yan - (general public - it means belonging to; usually the trade, or town for which the people are from)
                    - iants/yants - Armenian generals, heads of state (for the exception of Mamikonian whose family was the leader of the Armenian military for several generations, WAY before even any type of *urkish tribe ever existed)
                    - uni - The Armenian aristocracy (i.e. Bagratuni, etc..)
(-kan, -tsi - not sure what type)

due to the systematic murder of our aristocracy, heads of state, educators, and relgious figures by the *urkish government starting in the late 1870s all the way to the most horrible years 1910s and 1920s has resulted in only -ian/yan last named people.

also - there are some who still have those last names and thats because of either of two things 1) actual survivors of heads of state or 2) families who felt that they had to change their last name to honor those heads of state who were maryrs in the genocide.
